Spaghetti Stitch Has Invaded Local Disney Stores!

Last year Disney gave us the Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction series, which gave a monthly merch drop based on a Disney attraction.

Stitch

This year, the new merch series is Stitch Crashes Disney, and so far it’s been pretty terrifying! This month’s release is based on Lady and the Trampand a few weeks ago we got our first look at Spaghetti Stitch! He landed online yesterday, but now Spaghetti Stitch has invaded Disney Stores around the country!

While we wait for the monthly merch to come to Disney World on March 1st, the Spaghetti Stitch Plush is now available at the Disney Store.

Spaghetti Stitch Plush

These plushes are $29.99, and are pretty large as you can see from the photo!

Purchase the Spaghetti Stitch Plush online here

Also at our local Disney Store, we found the Spaghetti Stitch Pin.

Spaghetti Stitch Pin

The pin is $24.99, and it would certainly add something unique to your pin collection!

We didn’t see the MagicBand that is part of the series at our Disney Store, but they could be available at your local store. We are excited to see next month’s Stitch drop, and we’ll let you know what movie it’s based on when it’s released! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest Disney merchandise updates.

More “Top 10” Days – Disney World Wait Times for Saturday, February 27, 2021

Posted wait times at the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom were all in the top 10 of the past month today, with much warmer weather predicted for this weekend.  We had three researchers in the Animal Kingdom this morning, testing different touring plans, and that went really well, too.

We counted 497 of 500 guests (99%) wearing masks in the Animal Kingdom today according to Disney’s guidelines.  And we’ve already got 202 actual wait times from our fabulous Lines community! Let’s do the rest of the numbers!

Magic Kingdom Wait Times

The Haunted Mansion had an average wait time today of 31 minutes. Its 7-day average is 28 minutes, so today ranks #2 for this week. Its 30-day average is 25 minutes, so today ranks #9 for the past month. Its 365-day average is 29 minutes, so today ranks #90 for the past year. We received 25(!) actual wait times today, and the actual wait averaged 48% of the posted wait time.

Let’s Take a Flower & Garden Festival Sneak Peek Tour of EPCOT!

The Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival begins on March 3rd, and with the installation of the festival topiaries and booths occurring in waves, I thought it might be fun for you and I to take a sneak peek tour of the park. Ready? Grab a cup of Twinings tea and settle in!

Our first stop is at Mission: Space in Future World East to see the Buzz Lightyear topiary. I especially love the added detail of four crayons on the ground behind him as if Andy had just stepped away.

Bambi and friends can be found just outside of Mouse Gear. They were located in this spot for last year’s festival as well.

Buzz’s counterparts, Woody and Bo Peep and her sheep, can be seen on the opposite side of Future World. Extra planters in the form of wooden alphabet blocks add a nice touch to the installation.

As I mentioned in a previous article, butterfly topiaries are near the Imagination pavilion, and they’ll welcome guests as they make their way to The Goodness Garden Butterfly House.

Speaking of the Butterfly House, which is located again this year between The Land and the Imagination pavilion, the signage for the interactive exhibit is now up and ready for opening day.

The Simba, Rafiki, Mufasa, and Sarabi topiaries can be found this year in a large raised planter near the butterfly topiaries. When I stopped by, guest after guest was taking advantage of this gorgeous photo opportunity.

The waterways in Future World West look lovely with their impatien-filled floating planters. The planters feature both standard and New Guinea impatiens.

The festival’s Outdoor Kitchens are in place and ready for the big day. If you missed checking out the full list of menus for this year’s Outdoor Kitchens, click here to read them all and make your must-eat list. Please let me know in the comment section below what your first item to try would/will be!

As we’ve seen in recent years, the Three Caballeros stand ready to party near the Mexico pavilion. They bring such joy, don’t they?

The Anna and Elsa topiaries can be found near their Sommerhus in the Norway pavilion. Elsa definitely looks like she’s up to something. Hmmm…

The Norway pavilion’s troll makes a return this year as he keeps watch over the line for Frozen Ever After, which, due to physical distancing measures, reaches to the China pavilion on most days.

Speaking of the China pavilion, a trio of playful pandas can be found here near the bamboo. They are the cutest things.

The Alpine Miniature Garden can be found in front of the Germany pavilion. If you’re planning a visit to the festival, please be sure to pencil in a few extra minutes to stop and take in the detailed work found here.

Snow White and Dopey are hanging out again this year just outside of the Germany pavilion’s bathrooms. I love the knowing look on Snow White’s face. It has to be hard trying to keep seven little friends in line.

The Italy pavilion is dripping with flowers, and it’s simply lovely. If you’re a flower fan, you’ll definitely want to stop here and take a good look around.

Lady and the Tramp can found along the Italy pavilion’s waterfront.

The Morocco pavilion’s topiaries take on a unique look befitting their environment. Seeds and such take the spotlight here.

The dragon topiary can be found along the waterfront in the Japan pavilion. A PhotoPass cast member is stationed at this spot to take guests’ pictures in front of the Torii gate.

Beauty and her Beast can be found in the center of the France pavilion. I love the way they welcome guests to the area in such regal style.

The Remy topiary is located nearer to the France pavilion’s expansion entrance this year, and, as a Remy fan, I appreciate this nod to his forthcoming attraction.

Captain Hook and Peter Pan can be found dueling near the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom pavilion.

If you’re a fan of the flower-filled teacups, rest assured that they’re along for the ride again this year.

Tinkerbell is found in the courtyard of the United Kingdom pavilion. She’s surrounded by intricate fairy houses, and it’s a fun departure from the other topiaries.

Winnie the Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet can all be seen along the path in the U.K. pavilion. They’re just so cute lined up in a row like that.

Kermit and Miss Piggy can be found this year across from Winnie the Pooh and his friends.

The gardens in the Canada pavilion are always lovely, but never more so than during the Flower and Garden Festival. I know that there are fans out there of the pavilion’s diminutive cottage, so I wanted to be sure to include a picture just in case.

The hillside flower quilt is truly coming into form. The blooms have really filled in over the last two weeks, and I’m looking forward to watching the area continue to explode with color.

PHOTOS: Character Art is RETURNING to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort!

There are LOTS of places in Disney World right now that are either being refurbed or built brand new!

Duuuuuude…

Several projects are in preparation for Disney World’s 50th anniversary in October, and EPCOT is going through a HUGE transformation. But, there was one refurbishment project in particular that really caught our attention — the character pages at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort were being erased!

We noticed that the beloved characters (Ariel, Lightning McQueen, Nemo, and Simba) that greet guests when they enter the resort were disappearing. Simba was the only character who was still up on our last visit, but now he is gone and one of the other characters has reappeared!

Lighting McQueen is BACK

Today, we saw that a shiny and new Lightning McQueen was back to welcome us to the resort!

Lighting McQueen Character Page

The other three pages are still empty, however we will be checking back often to see if they look the same like McQueen, or if they are entirely different!

Character Pages

As the refurbs and construction projects continue around Walt Disney World, we’ll continue to give you the latest updates!

Where Can You Get a Boozy Slushy at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?

Warm weather is here in Orlando, and it’s only going to get hotter. If you want a convenient and fun way to cool off, and celebrate being on vacation, consider a boozy slushy. You can find a few spots in each of the parks that offers them. A few weeks ago we highlighted the Frozen Coke with Jack Daniel’s Whiskey at Hollywood Studios. Now let’s talk about two of the places where you can grab a boozy slushy at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Frozen Coca-Cola with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Frozen Coca-Cola with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum or Jack Daniel’s Whiskey

One of the things I love about getting a frozen slush with a shot, is that it does not slosh around when navigating the rough theme park terrain and pushing a stroller. I also love that most boozy slushies at Disney are not too strong, but do have enough liquor to make it a cocktail worth its price (in relation to most Disney cocktail prices).

At Drinkwallah just inside the Asia section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom you can order a variety of frozen slushies, with and without alcohol, as well as cinnamon roasted nuts and other snacks. This little hut is near the Discovery River so it’s a nice spot to grab a snack or drink, and enjoy the river views.

Frozen Coca-Cola with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Frozen Coca-Cola with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

You can get a Frozen Coca-Cola with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum for $11.00. Jack Daniel’s Whiskey is also an option at $11.00 which is two dollars less than it is at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

I selected the Captain Morgan Spiced Rum. Either the drink was really weak or the Spiced Rum’s flavor blended right into the Coke. It was cool and refreshing, and did not have as strong of an effect as the Frozen Coke and Jack Daniel’s Whiskey that I had at Hollywood Studios a few weeks earlier. Still, for a convenient, simple drink, I would recommend a stop here at Drinkwallah.

Drinkwallah Menu
Enjoying my Frozen Coca-Cola with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum in my favorite little hut

For more creative frozen slushy concoctions, Isle of Java has three boozy slushies. There’s one with rum, one with vodka, and one with tequila. I recently ordered the Macaw Specialty Beverage (sans alcohol) and was disappointed that this tri-layered slush was sold in a solid white cup, so the lovely layers mattered not. Still, I’m a fan of slushies as a way to cool off, boozy or not. What about you?

Have you ever grabbed a frozen slush with alcohol at Walt Disney World? What is your favorite?

A Reopening and NEW Blizzard Beach Menu Updates in Disney World!

Is it just us or is this week — no, this month — flying? It’s almost the end of February!

Welcome back, Big River Grill and Brewing Works!

It’s already been a few weeks since we indulged in Valentine’s Day treats, and we’re gearing up for next week’s debut of the 2021 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival. But that didn’t stop Disney World from reopening a restaurant this week and updating TONS of menus throughout the resort.

Blizzard Beach

Avalunch

Blizzard Beach will reopen on March 7th!  And ahead of the big reopening, Disney has revamped menus for its dining locations, including Avalunch. So here’s what’s been updated:

  • NEW: Sauerkraut Mustard 1/4 lb. All-Beef Hot Dog for $10.99
  • RETURNING: Bacon Macaroni & Cheese and Chili-Cheese Frito Hot Dog for $10.99
  • GONE: Loaded Beef Nachos Served with Beef Chili, Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Guacamole, Sour Cream, and Jalapeño
  • NEW: Nacho 1/4 lb All-Beef Hot Dog for $10.99
  • NEW: Italian Sandwich served with chips for $9.99

Avalunch at Blizzard Beach

The Kids Meal also no longer comes with a shovel and pail. Boo! But its price is the same for a Turkey Sandwich for $9.49 or Macaroni & Cheese for $9.19.

You Can NOW Buy Tickets for Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park!

Warming Hut

The Warming Hut has also seen a few menu upgrades, and no, the Edible Cookie Dough isn’t on the list — it hadn’t been around for a while, though, but we can dream! Here’s what’s on the menu:

  • GONE: Shrimp Louie Wrap
  • NEW: Chilled Shrimp Salad served with Thousand Island Dressing for $11.49
  • NEW: Honey Butter Chicken Sandwich With Pickles for $10.49

Please bring back the edible cookie dough!

And don’t fret — the BBQ chip covered Turkey Leg is back for $14.49!

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Is Getting NEW FOOD Upon Its Reopening!

Disney’s Boardwalk

Big River Grille and Brewing Works

ANOTHER restaurant has officially reopened at Disney World. This time, it’s Big River Grille and Brewing Works at Disney’s Boardwalk.

Nachos!

Big River Grille and Brewery serves up hearty staples like steaks, burgers, and nachos, and offers a variety of beer. We think it’s nice to have another dining option over in that area!

Review, Food Photos: Big River Grille and Brewing Works at Disney World’s Boardwalk Inn

Disney Springs

House of Blues

Over at the House of Blues, the kids menu got a little bit of an update. There are quite a few new entrees for kids to choose from (and honestly, it’s always good to give kids more solid choices, right?)

  • NEW: Grilled Cheese served with a side of fresh fruit and choice of milk or juice for $8.99
  • NEW: Mini Cheeseburgers served with a side of fresh fruit and choice of milk or juice for $8.99
  • NEW: Pasta with Housemade Marinara served with a side of fresh fruit and choice of milk or juice for $8.99
  • NEW: Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza served with a side of fresh fruit and choice of milk or juice for $8.99

House of Blues

But there were also a few additions to the drinks menu, and we’re TOTALLY okay with that. Here’s what’s changed:

  • Memphis Blues Sangria also now available by the glass for $10, also still available by pitcher for $34
  • NEW: Saint M Reisling for $11 per glass or $41 per bottle
  • NEW: Abita Purple Haze Beer for $8
  • NEW: House of Blues Private Label Chardonnay for $9 per glass and $32 per bottle

Drinks!

So if you’re heading over there soon, now you have a few new boozy options!

The bar at Rainforest Cafe, Lava Lounge, has a few changes — but don’t worry, nothing major! Here’s what’s happening on the menu under “Sandwiches and Burgers.”

  • Jungle Turkey Wrap also now has Coleslaw, in addition to Shaved Turkey Breast, Tomatoes, Bacon, Lettuce, Caesar Dressing, and Flour Tortilla served with choice of side for $17.99
  • Iggy’s Piggy Sandwich now comes with a choice of side

Ribs, Steak, and Shrimp Trio

We told you the changes were small!

REVIEW: A Robot Gorilla Was More Interesting Than the Food at Rainforest Cafe in Disney World

Earl of Sandwich

Don’t worry, Earl of Sandwich fans! There’s nothing major going on with the menu there. In addition to Tomato Soup, there is now a Featured Soup for $3.49 per cup or $4.49 per bowl.

Earl of Sandwich

This will likely be a different soup every day or something that’s seasonal, so be sure to ask about it if you drop in!
