Arc Reactor Tiles Covered at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure

The iconic but troublesome Arc Reactor tiles at Avengers Campus have a history of malfunctioning. A refurbishment may be on the way, however, as the tiles were covered up on our latest trip.

We approached the Stark-inspired square earlier today to see what was going on.

Sure enough the glowing blue tiles we know and love and been completely covered up.

With the exception of one little, blue circle of course. About the size of the one in (or at least used to be in) Tony Stark’s chest.

This is a pretty sad comparison to the previous look of this bright installment.

For perspective, here is what the Arc Reactor tiles should look like. Hopefully this is only a refurbishment rather than its removal, keep your eyes on Disneyland News Today for the latest.

Testing on Pirates of the Caribbean Begins as Walls Come Down in Blue Bayou at Disneyland

The walls covering the view of Pirates of the Caribbean’s refurbishment (which we’ve been giving updates on here) are now removed, thus revealing the lovely bayou scene behind, and that testing is underway ahead of the attraction’s reopening.

Pirates of the Caribbean is set to reopen July 1. Construction appears to be on schedule as empty boats can be seen testing and sailing past guests as they eat at Blue Bayou Restaurant.

The lack of walls really helps widen the room and ambiance of the restaurant.

The bayou scene will definitely help guests get in the mood for a Monte Cristo sandwich.

We dined at Blue Bayou just before the walls came down, and you can come with us in our video review right here:

Hungry yet? Blue Bayou Restaurant has opened up reservations for guests hoping to take a peek at the refurbished Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
