New Nexu Toy at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Guests can now adopt a Nexu from the Creature Stall in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Nexu Toy – $54.99
The Nexu is a cat-like creature with two sets of black eyes, sharp claws, and quills on its back. Though a full-grown Nexu can be close to 15 feet long, the Nexu available at Creatre Stall is small. Perhaps it’s a baby.
The felines have sand-colored fur with black stripes. They have sharp teeth in wide black mouths.
They have long naked rat-like tails.
Nexu are native to the planet Cholganna but can also be found on Zhanox, Vodran, and Saleucami. Their first appearance in the “Star Wars” franchise was in “Episode II — Attack of the Clones,” when Poggle the Lesser tried to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala with one of the felines.
A Nexu also appeared in “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” episode “Cut and Run.” One of the creatures attacked the young clone Omega but was fought off. Nexu have appeared or been mentioned in several other “Star Wars” media including the “Bounty Hunters” comics.
The Nexu toy is interactive. Petting its head activates sound effects. Pressing its sides opens its mouth and activates different sounds. Its legs and tails also articulate.
Like other adoptions from the Creature Stall, the Nexu comes in a silver cardboard carrying case.
The Nexu was released on May the 4th, Star Wars Day. Check out the new Batuuan Spira and Salvaged Stormtrooper Helmet Bucket.

Toydarian Toymaker is a staill in Black Spire Outpost Market.
Krrsantan and Cad Bane are bounty hunters. They both made their live-action debuts in “The Book of Boba Fett” but appeared in other “Star Wars” media before that.
Krrsantan Plush – $22.99
Krrsantan is a black Wookiee with some gray fur on his face.
His black eyes and nose are embroidered.
He wears a light brown harness. Matching bands are on his hair braids.

Heads Up! 2 Disney World Rides Will Remain CLOSED This Week!
We have been gearing up for summer in Disney World!
Disney announced that several of the attractions currently closed will be reopening sometime this summer! Unfortunately, we still don’t have opening dates. That means, two rides that we are eager to ride will remain closed this week, among several other attractions.
Both Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will remain closed this week in Disney World!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed on January 8th, it won’t reopen until the summer of this year.
Although we don’t have an exact reopening date yet, we know that it’ll be at least a few months before the ride reopens. Last year, when the ride closed around this time (on February 20th, to be exact), it reopened on May 26th.
Two Disney World Rides Will Finally REOPEN this Summer
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Splash Mountain is permanently closed — this ride is being renovated to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! The new ride will be themed to The Princess and the Frog.
The ride in Disney World is set to open this summer. Now, we are starting to see some big signs that we’re getting close. New signs have been added to a couple of the stores near the ride! Critter Co-Op and Tiana’s General Store will be coming to Magic Kingdom.
We have also seen Disney Imagineers test riding the ride! Now, that gets us super excited to see! If they’re riding it, that’s gotta mean it’s almost ready, right?
Other subtle details have emerged such as a water lily on the new gate. The water lily is a nod to the movie the ride is inspired by. The queue is also starting to look really good, and we know there’s going to be a fun Mardi Gras celebration!
And now that some of the walls have come down, you can see new details like this new sidewalk that has been exposed!
We recently learned lots of new information about this ride, including a hint that there will be Splash Mountain Easter Eggs throughout the attraction! Disney recently shared a look at new characters coming to the ride, but there has not been an opening day announced yet. We’ll be watching and listening as summer approaches!
DON’T FREAK OUT! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Just Took a MAJOR Step Towards Opening!
If you miss Splash Mountain or want to celebrate the new ride, you should check out our DFB t-shirts! We have a Splash Mountain Farwell Tour shirt…
…and a Tiana tee as well!
You can shop both tees (and lots of other Disney merch) at our online store.
Click here to shop our DFB merchandise store.
Both of these rides will be opening sometime this summer! We are still waiting to hear an official date for them, but it’ll be here before we know it. Other attractions will also be remaining closed this week. Check out what will be closed the week of May 4th through May 11th.
Magic Kingdom
Country Bear Jamboree
Country Bear Jamboree closed on January 27th, 2024 for refurbishment. When we recently visited Magic Kingdom, we noticed that the sign for the show has now been covered up!
Disney announced that a NEW show is coming to Country Bear Jamboree, with the bears learning an all-new act. The new show is set to open sometime this summer.
With Country Bear Jamboree and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closed, that leaves just Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Walt Disney World Railroad open in Frontierland.
A DFB Reader Just Identified a Potential PROBLEM with Magic Kingdom’s Bizarre New Attraction
Tomorrowland Terrace
Tomorrowland Terrace is a quick-service restaurant that’s remained closed since the 2020 pandemic-related closures, but even before that, this spot was only occasionally open.
Once in a while, you’ll see the dining room open as a rest area (and it’s still being used for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties), but it’s usually all roped off and empty. Disney hasn’t announced when this spot could finally reopen, but we’ll be watching for updates.
Why Eating Lunch in Magic Kingdom Is a HUGE Mistake
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Well, it’s official — Voyage of the Little Mermaid is permanently closed in Disney World. We had suspected this was the case for some time (as it hasn’t actually been open for a few years now), but now the permanent closure has been confirmed.
Disney is going to introduce a NEW show in this spot, though it will still be themed to the animated movie The Little Mermaid! The new show will be called “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Fall 2024.
It will be a “fully reimagined theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic.”
Vacation Fun
Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie, is a show that takes place at the Mickey Shorts Theater at Echo Lake in Hollywood Studios.
As of April 29th, the show the show’s website stops showing times to view the production. Luckily, times begin popping back up on May 25th. It is likely Disney is just going to be tidying things up for a little while. We’ve seen other shows in Hollywood Studios get some attention recently, so perhaps Vacation Fun will be getting a little love.
Come With Us to See the Muppets in a RARE Show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
EPCOT
Restaurant Marrakesh
Restaurant Marrakesh is still closed in the Morocco pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase, and there’s no word yet on when it might reopen as a dining location. However, the restaurant kind of opened on May 1st. It will be functioning as an Annual Passholder lounge from May 1st through June 26th.
Even though we’re still waiting for the full restaurant to reopen, Annual Passholders will be able to enjoy the air conditioning, charging stations, and complimentary food and beverages. There may even be opportunities to meet “special friends” throughout V.I.Passholder Days, according to Disney. We still don’t know if it is permanently closed or if it could reopen as a restaurant, but we’ll take what we can get.
Exclusive Annual Passholder Lounge NOW OPEN in EPCOT
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach had its last open day on March 16th, 2024 before it closed for refurbishment. Blizzard Beach has nine attractions that we won’t be able to enjoy this week.
While Blizzard Beach closed, Typhoon Lagoon opened on March 17th, 2024. The two water parks often rotate off and on for being open. Disney has not given a timeline for this new closure or how long Typhoon Lagoon will be open. We’ll be watching for any updates, though!

Drinking Around the World in EPCOT Just Got WAY Better With This Amazon Souvenir!
We’ve been to EPCOT enough times to know that the World Showcase has become a major hotspot for adults looking to eat and drink their way around the world. Mexican margarita at 4PM, followed by a French martini at 6? Say no more — we’re THERE! Who’s joining?
In fact, drinking around the world has become such a major phenomenon that we’ve seen countless attempts to drink around the World Showcase on social media and heard many stories from people in EPCOT! GOOD NEWS: Disney World Rides AVOID Triple-Digit Wait Times in First Week of May
Welcome to Data Town. OK, this isn’t really Data Town, but we are here to bring you some fresh statistics straight from Disney World. We compiled the average Disney World wait time data for the past seven days (April 26th–May 2nd), and we need to tell you the interesting trends we’ve spotted. Walt Disney World saw some interesting average wait time fluctuations this week. Most parks saw the status quo remain in place, while one saw some WILD increases.
Two of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s most in-demand attractions saw double-digit increases in wait times this week, with one breaking the 90-minute barrier as Disney World’s most in-demand attraction. Ready to see the stats? Let’s go!
Take a look at this week’s average wait times — going from highest to lowest!
Magic Kingdom Wait Times
The Magic Kingdom saw wait times for the park’s most in-demand rides FALL this week, with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain, and Jungle Cruise all seeing slight decreases. (NOTE: Since Tron Lightcycle/Run does not currently use a standby queue, it’s not included here.)

A DFB Reader Just Identified a Potential PROBLEM with Magic Kingdom’s Bizarre New Attraction
EPCOT Wait Times
After two weeks of rising wait times, things stabilized a bit at EPCOT week, and the wait for the ever-in-demand Frozen Ever After fell slightly. (NOTE: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind does not currently use a standby queue, it’s not included here.)
- Frozen Ever After — 65 minutes
