We’re having so much fun at Disney World today!
It’s the 4th of July! We’ve seen a lot of people dressed up for the occasion, and we’ve seen the reopening of TWO snack spots (Golden Oak Outpost at Magic Kingdom and Dino Diner at Disney’s Animal Kingdom). We also have been munching on some great 4th of July treats, like a 4th of July cupcake with LOADS of frosting, a 4th of July cupcake with a Mickey ear hat, and a 4th of July Funnel Cake!
But those treats have got NOTHING on the desserts we just found at Le Petit Cafe at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Le Petit Cafe goes HARD on the holidays, and today is no different. These snacks are SCREAMING patriotism with their red, white, and blue makeovers. We did get one of these, too, but first, we just have to show you these UH-MAZING snacks.
There was a GORGEOUS red, white and blue Tree of Profiteroles display set up with stars and chocolate Riviera coins set up on the counter.
The Milk-Chocolate Ganache Tart ($6.99) got a stars and stripes makeover.
We love the cute makeovers that the Hazelnut-Caramel Profiteroles ($6.99) get for holidays. We totally dug the mustached Father’s Day treat, but we are really digging the red and blue profiteroles with the white star on top.
The Seasonal Cupcake ($5.99) also got a red, white, and blue makeover for the day.
And HOW pretty is the Lemon Cheesecake ($6.99) now? Look at that beautiful pinwheel on top!
But the snack that wowed us the most is the Fruit Tart. Because it received the most unique 4th of July makeover of all — it got its own little grill on top, complete with tiny “hotdogs” and a “cheeseburger.” How creative!!!
The fruit tart has a Graham Cracker base with Vanilla Custard Filling. It’s topped with Cherry Mousse and has berries around the edge. The grill is Dark Chocolate, while the hamburger and hotdogs are fondant. Plus there are some gold leaf specks scattered about.
We’ve liked this Fruit Tart in its other incarnations, and this one did not disappoint. It’s a refreshing and light treat that’s not super heavy — the perfect summertime snack! If you’re expecting a rich or chocolatey dessert, though, this is not the treat for you. If you aren’t a huge cherry fan, you might not like the mousse. We would’ve preferred raspberry, but it was still pretty tasty!
This Fruit Tart is available now for $5.99 — we don’t expect the 4th of July version to stick around for long, but it’s a solid dessert, no matter what it looks like.
We’ll keep checking out all the 4th of July snacks at Disney World today, so keep reading for more reviews!
