If there’s macaroni and cheese on the menu, it’ll eventually be on my plate and therefore in my belly. It’s just a fact.
Disney World is filled with all sorts of great mac and cheese dishes. There’s the heaping cup of cheesy goodness that you can get at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Mac and Cheese Bites at Wine Bar George in Disney Springs, and more. However, there’s one thing that Disney World DOESN’T do with mac and cheese that they totally SHOULD.
The Orange County Register brought to our attention a GLORIOUS event that is currently taking place at Knott’s Berry Farm. The annual Peanuts Celebration is taking place through February 25th, but a “secret” festival is also taking place along side it.
IT’S A MAC AND CHEESE FESTIVAL. Well, an unofficial one.
The OC Register said, “A ‘secret’ Mac & Cheese festival taking place during the Peanuts Celebration has turned Knott’s Berry Farm into a cheese-lovers paradise with the kids menu staple showing up on funnel cakes and cheeseburgers and in soups and burritos.”
Apparently, there are so many mac and cheese items that snuck onto the menus that are causing folks to call it “the Cheesiest Place on Earth.” 10 of 21 Peanuts Celebration food items feature mac and cheese.
“It’s kind of a secret menu,” Knott’s Berry Farm Vice President of Food & Beverage Laura Brubaker said of the preponderance of Mac & Cheese items. “We did advertise it to some degree, but not like we do with other events.”
Okay, we’d totally try a mac and cheese funnel cake. DISNEY?! Why won’t you do this?! It could take place in EPCOT in between some of the other festivals. Each country’s take on a classic American kids’ dish. We have it all worked out. Disney just needs to execute.
