Chucky has taken over Halloween Horror Nights for 2023 and there’s a whole lot of Good Guys treats at Chucky’s Killer BBQ. Located at Hollywood and Dine on the upper lot near the entrance to the park, Chucky’s Killer BBQ is open all day, so you can grab a knife and fork and dig in anytime.
Let’s take a look at the menu. There’s savory items, sweets, and a themed cocktail and mocktail.
There’s a Child’s Play Funnel Cake and Wanna Play Cookie for those craving something sweet.
The themed names continue with Friends to the Burnt Ends, Chucky’s A Clucking Nightmare, and Liked to be Hugged Salad.
There’s a themed cocktail and a themed mocktail. Wanna Play? contains alcohol and The Good Guy is a non-alcoholic version. It feels like a good day to get the Wanna Play? cocktail.
Let’s try the Always Comeback Corn Dog and the Chucky’s Mac-assacre and Cheese, too. Whoever came up with “Mac-assacre” deserves a raise.
Always Comeback Corn Dog – $12.99
Corn dog drizzled with an orange garlic aioli topped with Hot Cheetos and Taki crumble, served with crinkle cut fries
They always come back. And we will always come back to Chucky’s Killer BBQ for this corn dog. The orange garlic aioli has a sweet and tangy taste. The citrus behind the heat of the crushed Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Takis is exactly what keeps them coming back for more. The corn dog is your standard corn dog, but it makes the perfect base for this delightful flavor combo.
The sauce is drizzled on the corn dog and, if you’re lucky, will drip onto the crinkle fries below. This sauce would be great for dipping, too. This was even better than the Cordyceps Corn Dog on the Lower Lot.
Chucky’s Mac-assacre and Cheese – $16.99
This was one of our favorite items we tried for Halloween. The only downside is the portion is very small. There’s a decent amount of bbq pulled pork and jalapenos, but we would have loved a little more macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese was really delicious. It was very basic, but we liked that. It did not have a ton of sauce or a heavy cheese taste, which allowed the bbq pulled pork to be the star. The price is a bit high considering the portion felt small, but we would order this again just because it was such an excellent dish.
Wanna Play? (alcoholic) – $17
Tequila, Aperol, Prickly Pear Syrup, Lemon and Cranberry Juice and Sicilian Sparkling Lemonade with Cotton Candy and a Gummy Eyeball
We would have ordered both the cocktail and mocktail to compare them, but the restaurant was out of the non-alcoholic version. This is the Wanna Play? drink that contains tequila and comes topped with cotton candy and gummy eyeball. Unfortunately, the cotton candy quickly melts right into the drink, leaving an eyeball floating amongst a sea of sugary grit. It’s an interesting look.
The tequila is strong, but there are too many sugary and syrupy flavors going on here to make it drinkable. It’s extremely sweet prior to the cotton candy and only gets worse. This may have been one of those times when the mocktail would have been a better option. This drink really didn’t have many redeeming qualities, aside from the gummy eyeball.
