Pathways Begin to Take Shape as Rockwork Progresses for Journey of Water Inspired by ‘Moana’ at EPCOT

Construction continues on the faux rockwork that makes up Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” at EPCOT. Our last update addressed the slow-but-sure progression of the fake rocks as they start to form into something distinguishable.

From the monorail, we were able to see over the fence into the valley of construction beyond. Crews are working hard to ensure the fake stones look as real as possible.

Additional scaffolding is up beyond the first set of rocks as the footprint of work expands. As the area begins to come together, the beginnings of the pathways are becoming visible.

Details such as the tunnel through a rock formation to the right of the site can be distinguished now.

A close-up shows steel on the rise alongside pipes, likely in place for some of the many water features. For a refresher on what to expect, check out the concept art below.
