6 Disney World Attractions You CAN’T Visit Next Week

From new rides to limited-edition snacks, reopened meet and greets to updated shows, you might have trouble deciding what to do in Disney World!

There’s a lot to do in Disney World!

Although there are plenty of options for things to do in the parks and at the hotels, there are still a few things that you CAN’T do in Disney World right now because of ongoing refurbishments. Take a look at what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World next week.

Magic Kingdom

The Harmony Barber Shop (a full-service barber shop on Main Street, U.S.A.) in Magic Kingdom is still closed right now, but it’s going to reopen soon on July 31st, 2022. Reservations will open on June 28th.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is also still closed in this park. Disney has announced that the salon will be reopening sometime in 2022! We don’t have a more specific opening date yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for more information.

We finally got reopening news!

The Walt Disney World Railroad is a popular attraction — it’s a train ride with a few stations around the park. This ride has been closed for years, though, and it still doesn’t have an opening date.

Construction over in Tomorrowland on the upcoming TRON: Lightcycle Run coaster has interrupted the train tracks, so the train can’t run right now. We’re seeing some progress on the construction, although we also don’t have an opening date for TRON.

Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a few shows that will be closed in the coming week. Fantasmic! is a popular nighttime show that has been closed for a while now. Disney has announced that it will reopen sometime in 2022, although we don’t know a specific date for its return.

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid is still closed as well.

Disney hasn’t commented on when or if the show will reopen.

Water Parks

Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed in Disney World, and it currently does not have a reopening date. Disney hasn’t commented on the refurbishments happening there or on a potential opening timeline.

However, Typhoon Lagoon is open now, so guests can head to that water park instead to find a wave pool, lazy river, and water slides.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

200 new DVC Resort Studios are opening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort THIS WEEK! The rooms will officially open on June 20th, and you can book reservations for them now. These studios have a Mary Poppins theme, with pastel colors and floral designs.

Victoria & Albert’s restaurant is reopening at this hotel soon! Guests can dine here beginning July 28th, and reservations open on June 20th.

Victoria & Albert’s pre-closure

Disney announced that there were changes to both the menu and decor at this restaurant. In addition, there have been some serious price increases to the already expensive meals.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds

The popular Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show is reopening this week at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds! The show will officially reopen on June 23rd, and you can book your dining reservations now.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is FINALLY returning!

If you’re planning on visiting this returning show, you can check out the full menu here. You can expect to find lots of returning favorites like fried chicken, BBQ pork ribs, and strawberry shortcake!

This list includes all the closures for existing attractions in Disney World, but there are plenty of new attractions in the works that you can look forward to! TRON: Lightcycle Run is a new coaster coming to Magic Kingdom, and Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is a walk-through attraction that will be located in EPCOT.

In fact, EPCOT is going through an entire transformation right now, which is why you’ll see a lot of construction walls in this park when you visit. There are going to be several new areas in the front part of the park, which will mainly be used for EPCOT’s festivals!
