REVIEW: Unique Flavors, Gorgeous Food, and COFFEE — One Disneyland Festival Booth Has It All

The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is FULL of delicious eats this year.

Disney California Adventure

This festival hasn’t technically started yet (the first official day is tomorrow, March 4th), but a few of the booths opened early! We’re heading to the Golden Dreams booth first to check out the eats there. According to Disney, this spot is home to “well-seasoned eats and nectarous drinks,” and we can’t wait to try them!

Menu

First up, let’s talk about the menu! As far as food goes, there’s both a salmon salad and a Mango-Carrot Gazpacho.

Drinks include a special cold brew, a tropical cocktail, and a Chardonnay.

Everything sounds delicious, but does it taste just as good? Let’s find out!

Food

First up, we’re ordering the Honey-Orange-glazed Salmon Salad with citrus vinaigrette for $8. We thought this salmon was really tasty! It was a little bit cold by the time we took a bite (since we were busy taking these beautiful photos), so we think it would be even better if you eat it right when it’s warm.

But the portion size was great for the price, and all of the flavors worked well together. We especially enjoyed the sweet honey-orange glaze. The greens were nice and crisp, which was a big plus!

Next on the menu is the Mango-Carrot Gazpacho. It’s made with grilled shrimp and jalapeño crema (can you say YUM?!) and costs $8.25.

This dish is bright and beautiful, and it lives up to its appearance! The flavors were super fresh, the texture was wonderfully smooth, and we enjoyed the combination of sweet and savory.

Super tasty!

We’ll definitely be back for this dish!

Drinks

While we’re here, we need something to wash the food down with! If you’re like us and you’ve got a long festival day ahead of you, then some caffeine may be exactly what you need — try the Orange-Honey Cold Brew. This drink is $6 and is made with Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Coffee, orange blossom honey, white chocolate, orange juice, vanilla, orange extract, and almond milk

Orange Honey Cold Brew

This drink sounded really fun, but we actually thought the orange and coffee flavors tasted kind of strange together. The acidity from the orange just didn’t seem to blend well with the coffee.

Prefer something a little stronger? Instead of coffee, order the Pineapple-Tiki Bitter Cocktail made with aged rum, Campari, pineapple juice, orgeat, lime juice, and tiki bitters. It’s on the menu for $14.

We thought this drink was great! The flavors were very tropical and refreshing. The booze was definitely present and you can tell it’s there, but it wasn’t overpowering.

Overall

We were really impressed with most of the things we tried at Golden Dreams! The only thing we probably wouldn’t get again was that orange-flavored coffee. But if you love orange-flavored drinks, you might still enjoy that one! The salmon was very tasty, and that gazpacho could be one of the best things at this year’s Festival.
