Why You Should Seriously Bring Sunscreen to Disney World Next Week

Whew! It has been RAINY in Orlando lately!

Magic Kingdom

Rain can be a serious hassle for Disney World guests, but so can braving the heat or big temperature changes! To get you prepared, we’re bringing you an update on the weather forecast for next week!

Weather Forecast

According to The Weather Channel, we’ll get a little bit of a reprieve from the rain this week!

Rainy Day in Hollywood Studios

The last two weeks have been pretty soggy, but we’re seeing a LOT more sun in the forecast. Let’s take a look!

April 26th

Monday, April 26th will start the week with the lowest temperatures — although that’s not saying much! That day is going to max out at an 84-degree high and we’ll see 65 degrees at night.

You’ll notice the temperatures this week are pretty stable! Don’t expect to see too many differences from day to day and get ready for a little heat.

April 27th

The next day, April 27th brings us a VERY similar forecast with another high of 84 degrees during the day and keeping that low down at a cool but still comfy 66 degrees.

You also might notice that the chance of rain is pretty low. We’ve had a rainy few weeks in Orlando so that’s GREAT news for Disney-goers!

April 28th

On Wednesday, April 28th, we’re going to see temps that are pretty similar to the day before (shocker). Your low is gonna slide up into the very high 60s for a comfy and still dry evening.

This looks like another GORGEOUS day!

April 29th

For Thursday, April 29th, we’re seeing a day with continued warm (but not too warm!) temps in the high-80s and a beautiful evening at 70 degrees.

Keep in mind this is still an almost 20-degree change in temperature from the high to the low. You probably won’t need a layer, but you might find yourself toasty during the day. Keep an eye out for thunderstorms in the evening!

April 30th

The week continues with still-similar temperatures in both the day and the nighttime on April 30th.

This is the highest chance of rain for the week and we may see some scattered showers throughout the day.

May 1st

Saturday, May 1st brings us more warm temps up in the mid-80s. Note this week has a few EXTREME UV Index days, so you’ll want to make sure you wear PLENTY of sunscreen.

Here, we’ll see an 86-degree high and a 68-degree low.

May 2nd

And we’ll wrap up our week on May 2nd with still warm temperatures and the continued sunny days.

Um, is it just us or does next week seem pretty perfect? But seriously, with those EXTREME UV days, make sure you bring that sunscreen!

Overview of the Week

Here is a full overview of the week according to The Weather Channel. Temperatures are projected to hang out in about the same place for the whole week. We’re looking at a range of 80s highs and 60s to 70s lows.

Keep in mind that the weather in Florida is subject to change at ANY moment so keep an eye on that forecast. We’ve seen some pretty intense storms in the last month so we don’t want to discount the possibility.

Tips for Weathering the Weather!

So, what are our best tips for packing?

Protect yourself from the sun and heat!

You’ve probably noticed but it’s starting to get WARM. Florida is known for hot and humid days in the late spring and the forecast is showing some intense UV levels. That’s not only uncomfy, but it can be dangerous too!

That view tho

High UV levels mean the potential for sunburn, so wear that sunscreen (and sunglasses to protect your eyes!). Even if you don’t burn, you can seriously damage your skin if you’re exposed to extreme UV rays; better safe than sorry!

Be prepared for anything!

Do NOT be fooled by a beautiful Disney World forecast! Florida is notoriously fickle when it comes to weather and we’re starting to get to the season where rain showers might crop up out of nowhere — even on a day that has a very low chance of rain.

Make sure to check that forecast a few times leading up to your trip and then keep an eye on it during your trip too. We recommend checking it each morning! And maybe don’t leave that poncho in the hotel room — just in case.
