REVIEW! If You See Us Holding a Corn Cob in Each Hand in EPCOT…Don’t Mind Us!

It’s day one of the 2021 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! Are you excited?! We’re excited!

EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival

Festival days are HUGE for us here at DFB because we get to run around and try all the creative food options! We also get to check out all the unique festival offerings, but the food is our first priority. (We are a food blog, after all!) So, on our tour of EPCOT today, we’re headed to a booth that has some of our favorites at this festival — Trowel & Trellis!

Menu

We’re in for a treat at this outdoor kitchen, because nearly every item on the menu is new! The only thing that’s returning from last year is the Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with Savory Garlic Spread

2021 Trowel & Trellis Menu

All the food items on this booth’s menu are plant-based, so it’s friendly for those on more restricted diets.

Food

First up, we’re trying out the Impossible Sausage and Kale Soup for $5. Even though our reporter isn’t big on kale, they loved this soup! It had a nice kick to it and surprising flavors. Our only complaint? Florida springtime is a little bit hot for a thick bowl of soup. We wish it wasn’t so swampy so we could love this eat more!

There’s also the Boneless Impossible Korean Short Rib with Cilantro-Lime Rice, Danmuji Slaw, and Kimchee Mayonnaise, which sounds really delicious. You can grab it for $6.75.

IMPOSSIBLE Korean Short Rib

Spoiler alert, it WAS delicious! We thought that it wouldn’t be the greatest since plant-based short ribs can be meh if they aren’t done right, but it was awesome. The mayo was delicious and the slaw was golden and crunchy.

For dessert, we’re noshing on the Lavender Pot de Crème with Blueberry Cake, Pink Peppercorn, and Lime Whipped Cream for $5.

Lavender Pot de Creme with Blueberry Cake

This dessert was kind of weird but we still liked it. The lavender part was definitely yummy and blueberry fans will like that bottom layer. Still, we’re not sure we’d get it again since this fest has other great dessert options.

And if you loved the Grilled Street Corn on the Cob with Savory Garlic Spread from last year, then it’s back for $5.75. We’re not gonna give too much away, but this DID make our best of the fest last year. Could it do it again? Maybe. Probably. I mean, it’s just that good.

Drinks

All the drinks on this menu are new this year as well. First up, you’ve got the Twinings of London Energize Matcha Cranberry & Lime Green Tea. The non-alcoholic version is $4.50. The alcoholic version comes with Hanger 1 Makrut Lime Vodka served in a Mason Jar for $11.

Holy moly was this dangerous. If you gave this to us and said there was no booze, we’d believe you. It tastes like plain old, delicious tea. We also love the glass that it’s served in. So cute!

For a beer option, you can get the Parish Brewing Co. Bloom Hazy IPA ($4.50 for 6oz and $8.50 for 12oz). This sip was seriously SO GOOD. It had juicy and soft flavors with high floral notes and a slight bitterness. Honestly, it was phenomenal.

Overall

Would you believe us if we said an all plant-based booth might be one of our favorites of the whole festival? Not only does this booth bring the return of one of our favorite Flower and Garden eats of all time (hey, grilled corn), the new options were amazing as well. Add in some FIRE drinks and you’re looking at a wow-worthy spot that you’ll want to visit when you’re at the fest.
