Review: EPCOT’s Newest Poutine Is NOT What We Expected It to Be!

We’re making our way around the 2021 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival to eat ALL the food we can find at the booths!

Refreshment Port

Refreshment Port is open in EPCOT year- round, but the quick-service restaurant tends to offer exclusive food during festivals! In honor of the Flower and Garden Festival, there are plenty of new items this year, so let’s dive in and see what they’ve got!

Menu

The Refreshment Port is offering two food items and three drink items for this festival, along with its Traditional Poutine that you can regularly find on the menu.

Food

The Popsicle Trio is returning this year, but everything else is brand new! Last year, we thought these popsicles were super refreshing with flavors like honeydew, raspberry-mint, and coconut lime. You do have to eat these fast because they melt very quickly in the Florida sun!

But aren’t they stunning?!

This booth usually offers some version of poutine, and for this festival, the poutine is a bit of a wild card! The House-made Italian Sausage and Pepper Poutine had us curious about the flavors since the dish is actually PLANT-BASED! (You can barely tell, right?!) It’s not the most appetizing dish when it comes to looks…we’re not gonna lie. But it surprised us (thank goodness)!

And while we are big fans of a great helping of sausage, but we were genuinely surprised by just how much we liked this vegetarian version! There’s a nice kick of spice, but it isn’t overwhelming. The sausage isn’t too salty with a great texture that pairs well with the crispy fries.

We might have to come back for seconds at this point!

Drinks

Since there are 3 brand new drinks at this booth, we had to try them all! It’s basically part of the job. 😉 We started with the Starcut Ciders Cidre Colada Hard Cider. When you’re first drinking it, you don’t taste too much of the “colada” flavor. But, it does build the more you sip on it!

Next up is the Cutwater Bloody Mary. We’ve seen this around the parks before, but it will be available at this location for the festival. This is made with Ultra-premium Vodka, All-natural Tomato Juice, and a dash of Spice! This Bloody Mary might be from a can, but it’s still got a nice kick mixed with tomato juice for a refreshing sip in the Florida sun.

Last but not least, we tried the Cutwater Whiskey Mule. We’ve also seen this in the parks before, but it’s made of Black Skimmer Bourbon with Ginger Beer, a hint of lime, and Aromatic Bitters. There wasn’t anything too unique about this particular mule, but it’s still a good option if you’re a fan of Disney’s mules!

Plus, the cup is just too cute, and we can’t wait to use it at home!

Overall

That wraps up the Refreshment Port for this year’s Flower and Garden Festival! We’d say poutine fans need to stop by Refreshment Port becuase honestly, the plant-based option is worth trying, we think.
