First, we shared that the resort would remain closed until 2021. Then, we learned that guest rooms there would be receiving a Moana-inspired makeover. Now, we’ve got some news about the monorail station at the Polynesian.

Please stand clear of the doors. Taking a trip around Disney World on the Monorail? One entire Monorail station will soon be closing.

We chatted with a Cast Member on the Disney World website earlier today who confirmed that, beginning in October of this year, the Monorail station at the Polynesian will be closed.

We were also able to find some further confirmation of this on the Disney website for the Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

The Cast Member we spoke to said that it looked like the Monorail station at the Polynesian may be closed for the rest of the year.

Hi There, Monorail

One of the big perks of staying at resorts like the Polynesian, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is having access to the Monorail. The Ticket and Transportation Center is a fairly short walk away from the Polynesian though, so guests would have access to the Monorail that way.

While some spots in the Polynesian, like ‘Ohana, remain closed for now, other spots like Tambu Lounge and Kona Cafe are currently open. Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are also open. We’re definitely keeping an eye out for closures and reopening around Disney World. We’ll keep you informed on the latest!
