Coachella is HERE and We’re Living Vicariously Through a Disney Legend (?!)

It’s that special time of year that people look forward to all spring. The time of year when outfits are thoughtfully selected, photos are specially posed, and everyone comes together to celebrate. (And no, we’re not talking about Easter; sorry Mr. Easter Bunny) It’s time to live vicariously through others and judge celebrity fashion from the comfort of our nice, cozy sofa — Coachella is HERE!

We just KNOW fashionista Daisy would thrive at Coachella

Of course, you might be wondering, “Umm…what does this have to do with Disney World?” Well, sweet Disney-lovers, let us explain. Toss on a little Harry Styles music and gather around, we’re going to Coachella!

Does Joe Rohde even need an introduction? He’s a Disney LEGEND (and, just a cool person in general) who was responsible for the design and creation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Aulani, and SO many more Disney projects. We could write a whole book on his accomplishments, but in short, he’s a creative genius. Got it? Ok, moving on!

Among all the influencer chatter and “candid” celebrity photos, Joe Rohde decided to join in on Instagram to share his Coachella adventures. Joe Rohde? At Coachella? Bet you didn’t have THAT on your 2022 bingo card. Move over Vanessa Hudgens, sorry Justin Bieber, we have to hand the Coachella crown over to Joe Rohde. In the first of several Instagram posts, Rohde wrote, “Coachella. Might be a little old for this but… We’ll see how this goes. I certainly won’t be running around in yoga pants.”

Throughout Day 1 of Coachella, Rohde shared some epic photos with thoughtful musings. In true Joe Rohde fashion, he wrote about how set and media integration worked onstage, offering his thoughts from a creative perspective. See? There’s more to Coachella than just glitter and alcohol!

If you’re like us, you might be wondering what a former Disney Imagineer and design ICON wears to a music festival. Luckily, singer Anitta shared this post on her Instagram story, crediting Rohde as her set designer. When discussing his work at Coachella, Rohde explained, “My purpose in retirement was to explore. I haven’t designed a stage show/set for forty years. Could have been a failure…and therefore a chance to learn and grow. Luckily, and because of the talent, energy, and heart of the team…it seems to be well-received. And it was fun and educational for me.”

Coachella has only just begun, but you can all go home. Joe Rodhe already won. In the meantime, stay tuned for more Disney news and theme park updates!
