A New Disney World Meal is Served in…A BAG?

We’ve tried a ton of new snacks in Disney World recently…and we mean a TON.

Magic Kingdom

We got new treats for the summertime, for Father’s Day, for the 4th of July, and then a bunch of “just because” snacks for the 50th Anniversary. We’re constantly finding new things to eat in the parks, but when we checked the Mobile Order options at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe recently, we spotted something we didn’t expect!

If you’ve ever been to Pecos Bill, you know that they serve Tex-Mex…but in theme park fashion. Typically, you’ll find options like nachos and fajita platters, but now there’s a new entree — The Walking Taco!

Ooh, that’s new!

If you’re not familiar with walking tacos, they’re the type of food you’d have at a fair, easy to carry around and all mixed together in one convenient container. Basically, it’s a bag of Fritos Scoops, topped with ground beef, yellow rice, black beans, cheddar, jalapeno, tomato, and sour cream. We spotted them on Mobile Order through the My Disney Experience app for $10.99.

It’s served separately.

It’s a pretty simple option (although it has a LOT of ingredients), but we were BIG fans of this entree! It was served piping hot, so that even after we stopped to take a bunch of photos, it was still almost too hot to eat. And somehow, the Fritos stayed really crunchy throughout that whole process. The toppings are served in a cardboard tray on the side, so there’s a little bit of assembly required.

What it looks like all mixed together.

We dumped all our toppings into the bag, and by the time we were done, we had some thoughts on the ratios. First of all, we would love to have a LOT more cheese, and maybe a different kind besides cheddar. If we ordered it again, we’d probably purchase a side of queso to go with it and pour on top. (There’s a little plus-up hack for you!)

In terms of the other toppings, there was a bit more rice than necessary, and we would’ve liked some more beef and beans to balance that out.

It was super delicious!

However, the flavors were SPOT ON. The beef was seasoned well and not too spicy, and we were honestly tempted to lick the bag when we were done. (Don’t worry, we didn’t! 😂) It’s a little bit too messy to truly be a “walking” taco, but kids would probably like the novelty of eating their meal out of a bag. It was a substantial portion, and we felt pretty full by the end.

In summary, if you love Tex-Mex, this would be a great lunch or dinner option in Magic Kingdom! You may want to choose something else if you’re not a big nacho fan or you don’t feel like getting a little messy, but we’ll definitely be including this one in our lunch rotation in the future. We hope it sticks around!
