PHOTOS: See Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Be EVACUATED in Disney World

What’s one of the most CONTROVERSIAL things that could happen to you in Disney World? A ride evacuation, for sure!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Confused? Allow us to explain! For some people, getting evacuated from a Disney World ride can absolutely ruin the day, especially if you’ve got a dining reservation to make, you waited in the queue for an extended period of time, or it’s your first time experiencing the attraction. However, for other people…it’s a dream come true! You get the chance to see a little behind-the-scenes action, and it can honestly be pretty fascinating. Recently, we got evacuated off of one of Disney World’s newest rides, and we thought you might want to see what it’s like!

Earlier this week, we were taking a spin on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios when the ride suddenly stopped. We remained in the vehicles for several minutes and during that time, the lights came on, then the animations stopped. After a little while, Cast Members came with step stools to get the guests out of the ride vehicles.

The ride stopped in the “Under the Sea” room.

When it was time to exit, the Cast Members led us backward through the ride, walking through each scene. We got to see the rooms with the lights on and the various animations turned off, which was a really unique experience!

The tornado room with the lights on was really strange.

Once we got back to the first park scene of the ride, we exited through a side door instead of the typical ride exit. We could actually see the loading platform on our way out. (Everything was empty, which was a little spooky!)

Back to the front of the ride!

We were told that one ride vehicle had stopped responding, causing them to shut down the rest of the ride for a reboot. Everyone who was evacuated was given a free Lightning Lane pass for the next day since we were evacuated in the evening.

Personally, we find it really interesting to walk through the ride sets and see what everything looks like with the lights turned on! It’s one of those unique experiences that few guests get to have. What a memory to have from your vacation!
