We know that atmosphere, service, and overall experience are a huge aspect of enjoying your meal. And while this bar may be one of the most stressful in Disney World, we still think it is worth checking out.

We are headed to a galaxy far, far away for this bar. It is a very popular spot, and today we are sharing some tips to take some of the stress away from visiting Oga’s Cantina.

Oga’s Cantina is located in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It is a heavily themed lounge that mainly serves up various drinks, both with and without alcohol, as well as a few options for small bites. Before we get too far, we want you to understand that Oga’s Cantina is not a place to plan to have a full meal. Make other plans for a full meal in addition to checking out Oga’s Cantina or you will likely be very hungry. Oga’s Cantina can be a bit stressful for a first-time visitor, there are lots of weirdly named options, lots is happening, and you are trying to do it all in a short amount of time.

However, while visiting Oga’s Cantina can be a bit stressful, we are here to help you feel less stressed and enjoy your limited time inside to the absolute maximum! Alright, for starters, we highly recommend getting a reservation for Oga’s Cantina. However, if you aren’t able to get one, you can still stop by and check out the walk-up waitlist while you are there. Sometimes it is completely filled up, but it never hurts to ask! You can keep checking throughout the day as well, as sometimes spots become available.

Next, Oga’s Cantina does have a 45 minute only rule. You should expect to spend no more than 45 minutes inside and know that they are pretty strict on this policy. It is an incredibly busy location, and they want to allow as many people as possible to experience it. One of our biggest tips to maximize your time is to know what you want to order ahead of time. This will give you more time to enjoy your selections and enjoy the atmosphere inside. As well, knowing what you want will help to make the experience a bit less stressful.

We also want to set some expectations on what else to expect inside. Be prepared to stand throughout your time. You might possibly be able to sit, but don’t count on it, and if you do sit you will likely be sitting with strangers. If you are hoping for less stranger contact, we recommend requesting the bar, but there are no guarantees they will be able to accommodate this request. You can also expect it to be fairly loud once you are inside with low lighting. Also, there is NO bathroom inside of Oga’s Cantina, so we recommend taking a pit stop before heading inside.

Now, let’s move on to what you are ordering once inside. We have a few recommendations, but we also suggest you check out the menu ahead of time to decide what sounds good to you. A warning that the drinks here are as strong as the force, so make sure you have some food beforehand. The drinks here are all pre-mixed, so you won’t be able to get a custom drink made. If you like Bloody Mary’s — try the Bloody Rancor. Maybe you are a margarita fan — check out the Outer Rim. If you want something weird and unique — get the Fuzzy Tauntaun. If you are looking for a drink that doesn’t taste like alcohol — try the Bespin Fizz. We don’t suggest getting the Blue Milk here (on the menu as Blue Bantha). You can grab the same Blue Milk at The Milk Stand for less, and the cookie that it comes with is very mediocre. There is a maximum of two drinks per guest. 

The bartenders at Oga’s Cantina are very much in character, so this is your warning. The whole environment is heavily themed, and the bartenders play their part very well. Some people may not be a huge fan of how immersive the environment is, but this is definitely part of what makes Oga’s Cantina so special. You will get a chance to see lots of awesome things and enjoy some good drinks during your time at Oga’s Cantina. If you come in with the right expectations, Oga’s Cantina is truly a unique, memorable experience. 

While you may not find an animatronic Cantina band in here, there is so much to discover and try! Plan ahead by making a reservation and checking out the menu ahead of time. Know what you want to get and be prepared to stand. Be aware that their 45-minute rule is strictly enforced, and they really do want you in and out. You won’t be able to get a full meal here, but you can try some unique snacks and drinks. Most of all, be ready for a truly unique experience as you are immersed into one of the most infamous watering holes in the galaxy. While there may be stressful aspects to Oga’s Cantina, there is also so much to enjoy and experience.
