Eric Burris, meteorologist with WESH news shared a look at a line of storms with intense lightning in the area. Typically, tornado watches aren’t of much concern — unless it escalates to a tornado warning. Make sure you’re checking the weather regularly so that you know if that happens.

Burris reported that nothing too severe had impacted the area for now, but scattered thunderstorms are still expected to impact much of the area, including Disney World. Potential hail and heavy winds are also expected.

If you’re heading to Disney World today, you might want to keep an eye on the radar and check your favorite weather app to get the most up-to-date information. You should also make sure you listen to any Cast Members during severe storms as they’re trained to keep you safe!

It’s unlikely that Disney will close the parks for today’s weather, but there will be multiple ride closures if lightning, heavy rain, and strong winds affect the area.
