Universal Orlando Resort Teases Next Epic Universe Announcement Coming This Week

Universal Orlando Resort is gearing up for another big Epic Universe announcement this week.

Universal Orlando Teases Next Epic Universe Announcement

Universal shared the following video that reads “5.2.2024” on a space background. The same date and a star emoji are in the caption.

Epic Universe has celestial theming, particularly in Celestial Park. Universal has already revealed details of that land and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. Lands that have yet to get their full reveals are The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, and Super Nintendo World.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic concept art and logo

The announcement date, May 2, is International Harry Potter Day in honor of the day the Battle of Hogwarts took place in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” This suggests the announcements this week could be about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic. However, as this is not confirmed, any land reveal is possible.

Universal’s third “Harry Potter” land is inspired by Place Cachée from “Fantastic Beasts and the Crimes of Grindelwald.” The street is the French equivalent of Diagon Alley. However, the land’s attraction will be inspired by the British Ministry of Magic. It will also have a stage show inspired by Le Cirque Arcanus from “Fantastic Beasts.”

Epic Universe is scheduled to open in 2025.

VIDEO: Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade Uses ASL in Choreography

The new Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade at Disney California Adventure incorporates American Sign Language (ASL) into its dance choreography.

ASL in Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! Parade

Dancers on ground in front of "Turning Red" parade float featuring 4*Town

While the characters don’t sign, the dancers on the ground sometimes sign “Better Together” during the performance. “Better” is signed by pulling a flat hand away from the mouth and curling it into a fist (via LifePrint). “Together” is signed using the “with” sign — pressing two fists together with the palms facing each other (via LifePrint).

In our video of the parade below, you can see the performers sign “Better Together” at about the 2:05 and 17-minute marks.

The parade is performed at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. daily through August 4, the end of Pixar Fest. ASL interpretation is available for the full parade on Mondays and Saturdays at 4 p.m. Meet the interpreters wearing blue shirts at the Hyperion Theater Courtyard at least 30 minutes before the parade’s start time.

More information about sign language interpretation is on the Disneyland Resort webpage for guests who are deaf or have hearing loss.
