7 Things to Keep Out of Your Disney World Park Bag, According to Travel Experts

We usually recommend what you SHOULD bring to Disney World, but for this one, we’re going to mix it up a bit…

Cinderella Castle

When you’re packing for a big Disney World trip, there are a ton of things you should bring from home with you on your travels. With that said, that packing list should also include items that should be left either at home or in your hotel room before venturing into the Disney parks. We talked to the travel experts here at DFB and came up with SEVEN items you should keep out of your Disney Park bags — and what you could replace them with!

We came up with seven items that will cause you problems at the Disney Parks, either due to lack of convenience, security hassles, or both. We then found some suitable replacements on Amazon. Let’s take a look!

Glasses Cases

Glasses cases often trip the security sensors in Disney World, so if you don’t want to deal with that hassle, we suggest leaving them in your luggage at your hotel.

We recommend picking up something like this 8-Piece Eyeglass Chain Set to keep your glasses secure around on a lanyard instead of in a case!

Plastic Straws

Disney World prohibits plastic straws — even reusable ones — at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the water parks, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. In many Disney World restaurants you get paper straws, and well, we’re just not fans of them!

This Sunseeke Silicone Straw Set comes with 12 straws, four carry pouches, and two cleaning brushes to make it a great substitute!

Umbrellas

While umbrellas are allowed at Disney World, they can result in a bag search at security and can be a pain to carry around.

We recommend something like this 2-Pack Cosowe Reusable Adult Rain Ponchos instead, which are also great to wear when riding water rides any time of the year!

Bulky Battery Packs

While carrying a battery for your phone is a good idea, the bigger ones can be inconvenient or be rendered useless once they lose their charge.

FuelRod Batteries get the job done and can be swapped at kiosks in Disney World when you need a battery with a full charge.

Stainless Steel Utensils

We get that you may want to use your own utensils, but certain types will set off security.

This Reusable Travel Utensils Set comes with four sets of wheat straw knives, forks, and spoons, is eco-friendly, and is a solid choice to bring into the parks.

Loose Pins

Pin trading is a wonderful tradition, but carrying the pins in a tin container or something similar will set the security sensors off and identify the pins as one large object.

Try something like this Ita Bag with a Pin Insert to not only get through security easier but to display your pins proudly, as well! This particular backpack also comes in many different colors!

Floss

This may be a weird one, but floss has set off security in our personal experience!

Look, we eat a lot at the Disney Parks and if you do too you may want to have floss to keep your pearly whites nice and cozy after a meal. This AOCEAN Dental Floss Pick Set is great for travel and could save the day after a hearty steak dinner.
