Celebrate Mardi Gras at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter with the new bananas foster beignets. This treat is available through February 29 at Scat Cat’s Club – Café.
Bananas Foster Beignets – $7.99
A trio of honey-glazed Mickey-shaped beignets with a house-made bananas foster sauce
Rating out of 7: 5
Each beignet is covered in a layer of green, purple, or yellow sugar — the colors of Mardi Gras. They make for a festive, cute-looking snack. The bananas foster sauce is at the bottom of the dish.
We thought we wouldn’t like this at first. The colored sugar gives you a nice crunchy texture on the already soft Mickey beignet. The bananas foster sauce at the bottom of the dish is buttery and not too sweet. It balances the sweetness of the beignets.
We recommend using a fork and knife for these beignets as the bananas foster sauce gets messy if you eat it with your hands. We also recommend sharing with somebody else; three of these beignets for one person is a bit much. It pairs well with a coffee, too.
We would still prefer a regular Mickey beignet but this is a fun once-a-year treat.
