A new limited edition pin available at Walt Disney World is inspired by the Three Caballeros and the Gran Fiesta Tour at EPCOT. It’s part of a series of “It’s Showtime” poster pins being released at Walt Disney World this year.
Three Caballeros Gran Fiesta Tour Poster Pin – $19.99
The Three Caballeros — Donald Duck, Panchito Pistoles, and José Carioca — are pictured in yellow stars on the poster pin. The background is blue with sparkles and music notes. The letters of “Caballeros” are also sparkly.
“Gran Fiesta Tour” is in the lower right corner. The pin has a red-orange border. It’s a limited edition size of 3,000.
“The Three Caballeros” is a 1944 animated Disney anthology film that marks the 10th anniversary of Donald Duck. A frame narrative sees Donald opening birthday presents, triggering different story segments that incorporate animation and live-action elements. The film takes place in Latin America and features stars Dora Luz, Aurora Miranda, and Carmen Molina.
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is a boat ride in EPCOT starring Donald, Panchito, and José. It replaced El Rio del Tiempo in 2007. For most of the ride, the trio are only featured on TV screens set into physical sets. Panchito and José search Mexico for Donald before their concert that night. Beginning in 2015, the Three Caballeros appear as audio-animatronics for the concert scene at the end of the ride. The animatronics are actually much older than the ride, having first appeared in the Mickey Mouse Revue from 1971 – 1980 at Magic Kingdom and then from 1983 – 2009 at Tokyo Disneyland.
