Disney Wishables are back with a new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind collection featuring plush of Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket, a Nova Corps Star Blaster, and Groot. The Groot plush is sold on its own, while the other four are available in mystery bags.
We found the new Wishables at Five and Dime in Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort and at World of Disney in Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. They are also available on shopDisney: Guardians of the Galaxy mystery plush and Baby Groot plush.
The plush are technically branded for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT, but depict the characters similarly to how they appear in the Marvel films and on Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure. Slightly different Mission: BREAKOUT! Wishables including a Drax plush were released back in 2021.
Guardians of the Galaxy Mystery Wishables Plush – $14.99
Each bag in the limited release series includes one plush. If you squeeze the pack, you might be able to feel which plush is inside.
In a mystery bag, guests will get either a Star Blaster, Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord (Peter Quill), or Gamora. The Star Blaster plush is inspired by the life-size spaceship outside Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. The plush version has eyes and a mouth.
Our Disneyland Resort team felt the bags and managed to collect all four mystery plush, in addition to the separate Groot.
Star-Lord is depicted with a mustache. He wears his classic red leather jacket (but of course it’s felt on the plush). Star-Lord is portrayed by Chris Pratt in the Marvel films and rides at Disney Parks.
Rocket is depicted in his blue and orange jumpsuit. Rocket is voiced by Bradley Cooper, with Sean Gunn performing on-set motion capture. Cooper did not return for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
There have been three “Guardians of the Galaxy” films and a holiday special on Disney+. The team has also appeared in other MCU films over the years.
Gamora is in a black outfit with silver and blue accents. She’s winking with one of her embroidered eyes.
Gamora is portrayed by Zoe Saldaña. With Gamora’s appearance in “Avengers: Endgame” and her starring roles in the “Avatar” films, Saldaña has been in the top three highest-grossing films of all time.
The Star Blaster is a type of spaceship used by Nova Corps, the intergalactic military force of the Nova Empire. They are based on Xandar and play a major role in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films.
At EPCOT, the story of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is based around the Other-world Showcase Pavilion presented by Nova Corps.
At Disneyland Resort, we also spotted the Wishables at The Collector’s Warehouse and World of Disney.
At Walt Disney World, we missed the Gamora plush, unfortunately, but we’ll keep squeezing packs until we find her.
Groot Wishables Plush – $14.99
Groot is sold separately from the mystery pack.
This plush is labeled as “Baby Groot” on shopDisney even though Groot is depicted as an adult on Cosmic Rewind (he’s Baby Groot on Mission: BREAKOUT!). The plush’s cutesy style makes him look baby-like but the design does appear to be inspired by his adult version.
Vin Diesel voices Groot and provides motion capture in the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film. As Groot re-grew throughout the later films, Sean Gunn and Austin Freeman provided on-set reference. Groot is an adult in the first film, a “baby” in the second film, and a “teenager” in the third film.
Vin Diesel did not return as Groot for the Guardians of the Galaxy rides, although Groot does appear. Fred Tatasciore voiced Groot for Mission: BREAKOUT!
