Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the full slate of upcoming Disney theatrical films during Wednesday’s Q1 2024 earnings call, including the surprise “Moana 2.” Several release dates were shifted in the wake of last year’s WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Upcoming Disney, Pixar, Marvel, & Fox Films
Here’s what’s currently on the calendar:
- “The First Omen” – April 5, 2024 (20th Century Studios)
- “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” – May 10, 2024 (20th Century Studios)
- “Inside Out 2” – June 14, 2024 (Pixar)
- “Deadpool 3” – July 26, 2024 (Marvel Studios)
- “Alien: Romulus” – August 16, 2024 (20th Century Studios)
- “The Amateur” – November 8, 2024 (20th Century Studios)
- “Moana 2” – November 27, 2024 (Walt Disney Animation Studios)
- “Captain America: Brave New World” – February 14, 2025 (Marvel Studios)
- “Elio” – June 13, 2025 (Pixar)
- “Avatar 3” – December 19, 2025 (20th Century Studios)
- “Avatar 4” – December 21, 2029 (20th Century Studios)
- “Avatar 5” – December 19, 2031 (20th Century Studios)
“Frozen 3” (Walt Disney Animation Studios) and another “Toy Story” film (Pixar) are also in development.
While Iger referred to “Frozen 3” as such, he just said the next “Toy Story” film is the first that will reunite the characters since 2019. He did not call it “Toy Story 5.”
Walt Disney Animation Studios has two dates that still don’t have films attributed to them: November 26, 2025, and November 25, 2026. One of these could be reserved for “Frozen 3.” Iger also previously confirmed a fourth “Frozen” film is in development, too.
Pixar has March 6 and June 19, 2026, reserved for two films.
The first poster and teaser trailer for “Elio” were released in the summer of 2023. Watch the teaser below.
