47% of Fans Don’t Want This Disney World Character Dining CHANGE

We love eating at the Disney World hotel restaurants! Don’t you?

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Since the pandemic, Disney World hotels and restaurants have reopened one by one. Recently, we finally got word that one holdout is finally reopening, so we wanted to find out what your thoughts were about the changes that are coming to that restaurant when it returns. We asked and boy, did you deliver!

We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “What do you think of the new characters coming to 1900 Park Fare?” The results were pretty varied. We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

What do you think?

Now, let’s dive into the results!

1. Against the change

It looks like we have a winner! Almost half of you expressed disappointment or sadness about the change in characters and preferred the old lineup (About 47% of you based on the responses). You feel that the new characters don’t fit the theme/atmosphere of the restaurant.

These two responses sum up those feelings best: “I prefer the characters that used to be there. More fitting with the theme than the new ones” and “Horrible. The room and remodel of the Grand Floridian is Mary Poppins theme. How could you not have Mary Poppins?”

2. Supportive of the the change

In second place, we found out that about a third of you are excited about the change, either because you see potential in the new lineup or because are are simply happy that the restaurant is reopening (About 33% of you based on the responses).

These two responses sum up those feelings perfectly: “I’m so excited it’s finally re-opening” and “Nice add, I’m on board.”

In last place, we found that some of you expressed a mix of emotions or confusion about the change (About 20% of you based on the responses).

I think this comment sums it up best: “I feel like I’m confused. What do these characters have to do with each other & how do they fit into one theme?”
