Smokejumpers Grill offers hearty American quick-service eats like burgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as some dessert options, like their famous seasonal shakes. You’ll find this eatery right next to Grizzly Peak near the park entrance. Today, we’re headed to try their latest seasonal shake: the Raspberry Cheesecake Shake.

Smokejumpers Grill menu — featuring the Raspberry Cheesecake Shake!

This shake is $9.79, and is topped with whipped cream, cheesecake bites, and fresh raspberries — a simple concoction that’s a bit more tame than some of the other shake offerings in the past. When we got our hands on the shake, it looked pretty simple. If we didn’t know any better, and if there weren’t fresh raspberries on top of all that whipped cream, we’d think it was a regular ol’ strawberry milkshake because of the color. However, the TASTE is what’s important.

The shake!

As for the taste, our feelings are a bit mixed. When it came to the raspberry portion, we were very satisfied. The raspberry flavor was pleasant and mild — not too overpowering. It was light and refreshing. It was the cheesecake bites that didn’t really work for us. We found that the cheesecake didn’t pack much of a flavor and got soggy quickly, rather than holding its shape and texture in the shake. By the time we got it, the shake was basically a mushy glob of raspberry and cream cheese sludge.

We wanted to like it

So… should you try this shake? If raspberry is your go-to flavor, give it a try! We really did like the raspberry portion of this drink, and who knows? You might have a better experience with the cheesecake than we did! However, if you don’t like raspberries or cheesecake, or prefer a more put-together dessert drink with bolder flavors, we recommend trying something else on the menu.

We don’t think it’s worth it, but YOU might!

Speaking of the menu, the other seasonal offerings include a Citrus-Melon Punch and Sparkling Blackberry Lemonade. Alcoholic offerings include a Melon Cooler and a Sparkling Blackberry Margarita, as well as a few seltzer and beer options. There are plenty of other options to try.
