Two new castle projectors have been added in Disneyland Park, encased in large structures designed to match Sleeping Beauty Castle.
New Castle Projectors Added to Disneyland Park
The new projectors are present at the edge of the castle moat on both the Frontierland and Tomorrowland sides of the castle.
As you can see with the comparison to a person, these structures are quite large. Encased in “brick” to match Sleeping Beauty Castle, they also have ventilation along the top to allow for the heat created by the projectors to escape.
A second projector is also present on the Tomorrowland side of the moat. The structures are exactly the same visually.
Each new structure is topped with a “stone” sculpture of an owl from “Sleeping Beauty.”
We also noticed that two of the six banners on the walkway between the hub and the castle have been removed, specifically the two center banners. Temporary platforms are now in place where the poles previously stood, with two trashcans resting on top of each one.
It is possible that the banners were removed for some sort of projection testing, or they could simply be getting replaced. The other four banners on the walkway are still in place.
Currently, guests can see Mickey’s Mix Magic nightly at 9:30 p.m. at Disneyland Park. The show includes projections on Main Street, U.S.A., the facade of “it’s a small world,” and, of course, Sleeping Beauty Castle. Performances held on Fridays through Sundays include fireworks.
