Does Disney Really Have TWO “Secret Doors” in Magic Kingdom?

There are SO many little secrets and hidden details at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom that it would take us DAYS to go through them all.

Magic Kingdom

For example, did you know a StarCruiser flies overhead at the end of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin? Or have you ever looked up at the windows on Main Street, U.S.A. to see the tributes to various Disney Imagineers? Plus, there are hidden Mickeys EVERYWHERE. Do you stay to see the “Kiss Goodnight” in Magic Kingdom each evening you’re there? Well, we just found another little secret detail we have SO many questions about.

Okay, so you probably recognize this view of Cinderella Castle. It’s a GREAT spot to get photos of the Castle (yes, we have TONS from this angle.) But do you see what we see? Do you see it? There on the right…there’s something…what is that?

There’s something there?

It’s a tiny door!

Wait…is that a…door?

Let’s get a closer look. It’s a secret little door that happens to be near the Cinderella Wishing Well. We can’t help but imagine something out of Alice in Wonderland, but it’s tough to say what it’s ACTUALLY there for. WE WANNA KNOW, Disney!

All we know is that it looks big enough for one of Snow White’s dwarf friends to fit through. Did we just stumble upon their secret lair? What is it for?!?!?!?! Oh, and get this: it’s actually the second little door that we’ve seen in Magic Kingdom. If we had a nickel for every time we found a tiny door in Magic Kingdom, we’d only have two nickels, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?

It’s got a little doorknob and everything!

There’s also one on the exterior of Bonjour! Village Gifts in Fantasyland. It’s believed that this door exists due to an error made when New Fantasyland was constructed,  but that may just be a bit of Magic Kingdom Cast Member lore. As you may notice, though, the round manhole and plumbing underneath would have been covered up by the wall of the store had it been built in a straight line. So the story goes that Imagineers just made a tiny door to blend into the wall and allow for the wall to bypass the manhole.

So, could the other little door by Cinderella Castle have a similar story? Does it serve some utilitarian purpose? Is it for storage? We may never know for sure, but we’re intrigued. We’ll let you know if we find out any more about this secret door!
