Who doesn’t love a character meet and greet?

Whether you’re meeting characters because your kids want to or because you want to (adults ARE allowed to enjoy meeting characters on their own– we promise), it is bound to be a magical moment. This year, we have been BLESSED with some new characters at Walt Disney World, and with the year coming to a close, we want to talk about all of the NEW characters we got in 2023.

We have seen so many new faces this year at Disney World. It always feels so surreal when we meet characters we know and love, but there truly is something special about meeting a character for the first time. We’ve had the opportunity to do that quite a few times this year!

We finally got to meet characters from some newer movies that we had been (im)patiently waiting to see in the parks– Mirabel and Moana. We have been waiting to see these two since their movies were released, and our dream finally came true.

You can find Mirabel in the Casita at Magic Kingdom. You’ll find so many amazing details at this meet and greet location– like the Madrigal’s magical doors, portraits, and more. She is one of the sweetest characters and isn’t one you want to miss! While we’re talking about some of our favorite characters from Encanto, we can’t forget about Bruno— and you don’t even need to go far to find him! You can see Bruno in the Adventure Friends Cavalcade.

Moana spends her time at her newest walk-through attraction– Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at EPCOT. Both the attraction and the meet and greet opened recently. Not only do you get beautiful views, but you get to meet such a lovable character which is such a big plus. We have been able to meet Moana in Animal Kingdom for awhile now, but it is exciting to be able to meet her at her very own attraction now!

We’re staying at EPCOT for this one because we are officially able to meet FIGMENT. You’re not sure who Figment is? Well, he has two tiny wings, eyes big and yellow, horns of a steer, but a lovable fellow. From head to tail, he’s royal purple pigment, and there, voila, you’ve got a Figment! Did that help jog your memory? Good! You can meet Figment at ImageWorks at the exit of the Journey into Imagination ride.

Oh, we’re still at EPCOT. They have given us so many new characters this year– so it makes sense. One of the newest meet and greets at the parks is Asha, from Disney’s newest movie Wish! She is meeting at the World Showcase Friendship Ambassador Gazebo. She was super sweet and we loved being able to meet her– even before seeing her movie!

Time to head over to Hollywood Studios, where we can meet the live action Ariel from the newest release of The Little Mermaid! You can find her in Walt Disney Presents. She is wearing a stunning blue dress and is one of the most bubbly characters we’ve ever met.

So… we went back to EPCOT. Sorry, we can’t help it! It is where most of the action was this year when it comes to characters. Here, you can meet Mickey and Minnie in their platinum outfits to celebrate Disney’s 100 years of wonder! You get a 2-for-1 special here since both of them are here to meet you! You can find them near the Imagination Pavilion.

Sometimes, Disney brings out some fun or exclusive characters for their after-hour parties like Jollywood Nights. So, we figured they deserve some love here as honorable mentions!

You can find Phineas and Ferb, Powerline Max, and Duffy the Disney Bear at Hollywood Studios Jollywood Nights as some exclusive meet and greet characters. Don’t forget your autograph books– meeting them could be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

When you’re planning when to find your faves, make sure you’re checking the My Disney Experience app so you can see what times they’re meeting. Make sure you have your autograph book out and ready for them to sign, too! It helps you maximize the amount of time you have talking with them!
