The new Smokejumpers Grill breakfast menu debuted at Disney California Adventure on Wednesday and we were there to try everything.
Smokejumpers Grill Breakfast Menu
Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The entrees include a breakfast sandwich, a classic breakfast burrito, and a plant-based chorizo burrito. There are also kids’ meals, sides, and special beverages.
Smokejumpers Grill Breakfast Review
Breakfast Cold Brew – $6.79
Chocolate Cold Brew, Toasted Marshmallow Foam and Cocoa Crisped Rice Cereal
This might be our new favorite cold brew. It’s as good as, if not better than, the Cold Brew Black Caf in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which has the same cereal topping.
It’s a bit less sweet than the Black Caf, which is what makes us like it more. Plus, you can get it at 7:30 a.m. and add alcohol, if you want.
It’s chocolate heavy so if you don’t enjoy mocha, skip this, but this is an amazing addition. It has the perfect mix of chocolate and cold brew. The marshmallow foam acts as a creamer that mixes in perfectly.
We’ll be getting this every morning at Disney California Adventure.
Irish Cream Breakfast Cold Brew – $17
Baileys Irish Cream, Chocolate Cold Brew, Toasted Marshmallow Foam, and Cocoa Crisped Rice Cereal
This is also amazing. It is an extra $10 for a shot of Baileys, but it elevates the flavor of an already great cold brew.
The Baileys cuts the heavy chocolate flavor a bit and balances perfectly with the cold brew.
Be sure to mix this for the best results. We appreciate that they don’t skimp on the alcohol.
For those of you wanting some Irish coffee in the morning, grab this before rope drop.
Honest Abe, Orange Sunshine Mimosa Cider – $14.25
(ABV 5.0%)
This is another great option that tastes just like a mimosa without the champagne buzz.
It’s a tad sweeter since it’s a cider, but it’s heavy on the orange flavor and bursting with mimosa energy.
Beer drinkers and mimosa fans alike will enjoy this. It’s on the lighter side so is easy to drink in the morning.
Classic Breakfast Burrito – $13.99
Sausage, Bacon, Egg, Cheddar, and Hash Browns with Molcajete Salsa, served with Cuties® Mandarin Oranges or Breakfast Seasoned Fries
This tastes exactly like you would expect. Everything is cooked fine and the portion is huge.
Our major complaint is that it’s dry and needs sauce. It comes with salsa but the salsa is super spicy, so avoid that if you don’t want spice.
We wish there was another salsa option. Maybe next time we’ll see if they can give us a side of the sauce that comes on the breakfast sandwich.
It reminds us of the Galactic Grill burrito, but with less sausage and more of an egg taste.
It’s a solid choice for those looking for a simple burrito.
Chorizo Burrito – $13.49 (plant-based)
Sausage, Chorizo, Egg, Cheese, Hash Browns, and Avocado Sauce with Molcajete Salsa, served with Cuties Mandarin Oranges or Breakfast Seasoned Fries
The Chorizo Burrito was also good, and came as a massive portion. Plant-based diners will be very happy with this.
The chorizo, being plant-based, isn’t greasy at all. It’s packed with flavor that reminds us of regular chorizo.
The plant-based cheese unfortunately doesn’t melt, so that part wasn’t great. But the avocado adds some coolness to the burrito and rounds it out nicely.
If you are looking for a legit LA-style chorizo burrito, this isn’t it. But for plant-based eaters or someone who wants something light on the go, this isn’t bad.
Breakfast Sandwich – $13.40
Sausage, Egg, Cheddar, Hash Browns, SJG Sauce, and Green Chile on a Toasted Bun, served with Cuties Mandarin Oranges or Breakfast Seasoned Fries
This was our favorite of the three entrees as it had the most flavor. The bread was soft but held up well against the sausage, hash browns, and green chili.
Our reporter is not a huge green chili fan, but wasn’t mad that it was there. If you don’t like green chili at all, then avoid this. Otherwise, give it a shot.
The sausage had good flavor and the hash brown reminds us of a McDonald’s hash brown in the best way.
The sauce on it tastes like a siracha aioli that complements everything well and doesn’t leave it dry like the first burrito.
Breakfast Seasoned Fries – $4.79
Every entree comes with a choice of breakfast fries or a Cuties mandarin. We went with the fries, and they were amazing.
They are crinkle-cut, perfectly crispy, and covered in a seasoning that tastes just like Lay’s BBQ chips.
We would definitely order just a side of these fries for a nice portable snack.
Overall
We appreciate Disney adding breakfast to Smokejumpers Grill as Disney California Adventure lacked food options. The cold brew is perfect. the three entrees are simple but should appease most parties. We love that they open so early so you can actually grab food before rope drop without missing out on your park time.
