Today is finally the day — the construction walls around World Celebration Gardens at EPCOT have come down, allowing guests to stroll through and explore this new section of the park.
World Celebration Gardens Tour
Of course, we have to start the tour at the “Walt the Dreamer” statue.
Guests can walk up to the bench where Walt sits, looking over EPCOT, and snap a photo.
The statue sits on a bench in front of a mostly-obscured view of Spaceship Earth. It depicts Walt in the later years of his life; he sits on the bench with clasped hands and a smile on his face.
The back of the bench features detailing that emulates the proposed design for Walt’s E.P.C.O.T. — the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, which was planned as an actual city instead of a theme park.
On either side of the bench where the statue resides are two plaques. The one the left reads:
“Walt the Dreamer”
Dedicated to all who dream of a better tomorrow
December 5, 2023
The one on the right reads:
“…always be in a state of becoming.” — Walt Disney
Now that the walls are down, guests can get a better look at the construction of CommuniCore Hall.
The building recently had more Spaceship Earth-style paneling added.
