With Saturday night’s debut of the new separately-ticketed Disney Jollywood Nights event, the holiday spectacular “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” has also returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Returns at Disney Jollywood Nights

Offerings of Disney Jollywood Nights, which runs on select nights between November 11 and December 20, come to a close with the “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” fireworks spectacular. The 14-minute show occurs at 12:30 a.m. on party nights.

“Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as a general nighttime offering in 2016. The spectacular returned with enhanced pyro in 2017 and was again performed in 2018 and 2019. Its Disney Jollywood Nights-exclusive return on November 11 marks the first showing of the display since January 5, 2020.

The show features Lanny and Wayne from “Prep & Landing” as they help Santa Claus deliver gifts around the world. Things go awry when Santa is not in his office, and the duo sets out to find him. On their journey, Lanny and Wayne travel through holiday moments from Disney films, all brought to life on the façade of the park’s Chinese Theater.

In addition to fireworks, the display also includes lasers, lights, projections, and music. This year’s “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” is largely identical to its 2019 showings; there are a few subtle differences in the timing and color of specific fireworks, but the lighting and projection effects are the same.

“Jingle Bam, Jingle BAM!,” like other Walt Disney World nighttime spectaculars, features references to several Disney films and properties. A medley of festive music plays as scenes from films like “Inside Out,” “Toy Story,” and “Bambi” are projected onto the Chinese Theater’s façade.

Guests watch as Lanny and Wayne attempt to rescue Santa, who has fallen into the hands of an iconic Disney holiday villain.

General holiday imagery, such as Christmas trees, ornaments, and gingerbread men, are projected onto the Chinese Theater alongside scenes from Disney classics.

The show concludes with Lanny and Wayne saving Santa Claus from Oogie Boogie, who sings a version of his iconic song from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Oogie Boogie has additional representation at Disney Jollywood Nights in the form of “What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along” at the Hyperion Theater, where the villain appears on stage.

The show concludes with our protagonists rescuing Santa, prompting a grand finale that includes several fireworks and multi-colored lighting effects.
