How Disney’s NEW Frozen Ever After Ride Compares to the EPCOT Version

As HUGE Frozen fans, we’ve been looking forward to this day for quite some time.

World of Frozen

Today, we’re visiting World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland, and specifically, we’re here to showcase all the new rides and attractions that the land has to offer, including Hong Kong Disneyland’s own version of the Frozen Ever After ride that you can experience at EPCOT.  We were super curious to see how the two rides would differ, and now that we’ve gone on the new ride ourselves, we’re here to tell y’all about it!

So, both the EPCOT attraction and the Hong Kong Disneyland attraction have the same storyline. It’s pretty much a direct copy of the original ride, but the space is actually designed for the attraction in Hong Kong, unlike the EPCOT version which was shoved where Maelstrom used to be in the Norway Pavilion.

The characters in the Hong Kong attraction are given much more space and are easier to view from most perspectives, which we loved!

The space was designed for the characters!

Another thing we noticed is that there is a snowflake on the door right before you see Elsa. It kind of explodes right before the door opens, which is a nice touch!

Hi, Anna and Elsa!

As far as the characters themselves go, Hong Kong is the clear winner. The animatronic faces are so much better than the digital ones that you see in EPCOT. All of the animatronics in the ride looked great — except for the last Elsa, whose face looks off. Her cheeks just seem… loose?

Elsa, you good?

Another thing we liked better about the Hong Kong attraction was the DROP. We’re not sure if it was steeper or if the drop was higher, but it felt more intense and as a LOT of fun.

While the two rides are mostly the same, there are some subtle differences that we think make riding BOTH attractions worth it. We had a lot of fun, and think you will, too, if you’re hoping to visit Hong Kong Disneyland.
