Disney100: The Exhibition, a touring exhibit featuring hundreds of Disney artifacts, never-before-seen art, costumes, props, and more than a dozen interactive installations celebrating 100 years of the Walt Disney Company, will be coming to The Heart Of America in May 2024.

Disney100: The Exhibition in Kansas City

Disney100: The Exhibition will be making its third stop in Kansas City, Missouri, in May 2024. The touring exhibition, which began its run in Philadelphia before stopping in Chicago, will be hosted at Union Station in the Bank of America Gallery.

According to the D23 release, the exhibition will open in the gallery on May 24, 2024.

““Our leadership team has worked tirelessly over the last three years to ensure we were able to bring Walt and his story back to Kansas City, where his animation career began. We have a long-time partnership with Semmel Exhibitions, and when we heard The Walt Disney Company was creating an exhibition celebrating its 100th anniversary, we knew we had to bring it here—to Kansas City—where the roots of Walt Disney run deep.”

Walt Disney filmed his first commercial film in Kansas City, and also met Disney Legend Eb Iwerks during his time there.

Disney100: The Exhibition “Crown Jewels”

At Disney100: The Exhibition, visitors can expect to see a vast collection of Disney memorabilia, artefacts, costumes, props, and more, some never on display before.

Here is a description of the exhibit from D23:

In creating this spectacular exhibition, the Walt Disney Archives opened its vault of treasures to showcase hundreds of objects, including more than 250 artifacts and works of art, costumes and props, and incredible memorabilia. Kansas City and Union Station have the high honor of being one of the first three cities to host the North American tour, along with Philadelphia and Chicago.

Within Disney100: The Exhibition, guests will encounter some of their favorite Disney stories as they journey through 10 imaginatively themed galleries showcasing “Crown Jewels” from some beloved films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), the live-action Cinderella (2015), Encanto (2021), and many more. The exhibition features more than 14 interactive installations and hundreds of items, including from some of the most recent members of the Disney family—Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel.

Tickets for Disney100: The Exhibition at Union Station

Both D23 and Union Station representatives have strongly recommended that visitors to the exhibit reserve tickets for the event ahead of time. Tickets are available from a $30 Visit Anytime Voucher (for all dates except opening weekend) up to the $100 First Access Pass, an “very limited” option which gives those ticket holders access to the exhibit on opening weekend as well as Disney100 Mickey Ears, a Disney100: The Exhibition VIP Pass & Branded Lanyard, and a Disney100: The Exhibition Pin. Tickets are available for purchase now at Union Station’s official website.
