6 Places Where DFB Reporters HIDE When They Need a Break in Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is super fun and exciting, but it can also be incredibly EXHAUSTING! Walking around all day, navigating the crowds, standing and waiting in line, chowing down on all that tasty food — it’s enough to make anyone want to lay down for a quick midday nap.

It’s a busy day in Magic Kingdom!

But here’s the problem: Our DFB reporters are working hard, bringing you all the updates and news from the parks, and they can’t always run home to take a nap in the afternoon. So where do they go in this BUSY park when they need a break? We’re spilling the beans!

Our reporters are in the parks EVERY single day, so they’ve found some pretty awesome spots to take a break and soak in the peace and quiet for a little while before heading back out into the madness. Here are some of their favorite spots!

Upstairs at Columbia Harbour House

Columbia Harbour House is not only one of our favorite places to EAT in Magic Kingdom, but it’s one of the best places to RELAX, too!

Columbia Harbour House

This quick-service restaurant in Liberty Square can get pretty busy during lunchtime, but if you know our secret, you can almost always find some peace and quiet. The trick? Just go upstairs!

Empty!

Most people don’t know that this restaurant even has an upstairs, so there’s almost always a table available, and during non-peak-meal times, there might be no one here at all.

The Dining Area Beside Golden Oak Outpost

This one is a little more hit-or-miss than the Columbia Harbour House trick. If you’re in Adventureland or Frontierland, you’re really close to Golden Oak Outpost.

Golden Oak Outpost

This little snack stand has a small outdoor dining area just to the left (if you’re facing the stand) that can get crowded during lunchtime but is usually empty during other times of the day!

Look to the left

There are even a few spots in the shade, so on hot days it’s not so bad.

We like to hang out here for just a minute to escape the crowds before hopping back up to get to work.

The Liberty Square Riverboat Dock

The Liberty Square Riverboat dock is something of a quiet oasis.

Liberty Belle is back!

We’re not talking about the front, though — you have to go around back!

So peaceful here

Down underneath the loading area, there are a couple of benches that are almost always in the shade. Plus, this spot has a great view of Haunted Mansion and Tom Sawyer’s Island!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventures Bathrooms

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure isn’t open yet (it’ll open sometime in late 2024!), but the bathrooms over by this ride are! Because the ride itself is under construction, there usually aren’t very many people over here, so if you’re looking for a not-crowded bathroom, these are a good bet.

A good spot for a break

There are also a couple of benches right outside the bathroom entrances that are usually in the shade, plus there’s a checkerboard! It’s giving Cracker Barrel vibes.

Center Street

You might be shocked to find out that one of our favorite places for peace and quiet is located right off Main Street, U.S.A.

Main Street, U.S.A.

Although there’s usually a LOT going on on Main Street, all you have to do is turn down Center Street to escape the chaos.

Center Street

This street is located on the right-hand side if you’re facing Cinderella Castle, right by the Crystal Arts shop. There are even a few tables with chairs if you want to bring lunch or a snack down here!

Shaded seating on Center Street

The only problem with this particular area is that there isn’t anywhere to charge your phone — that’s what makes this NEXT spot even better!

Storybook Circus Relaxation Zone

Over in Storybook Circus, there’s a Relaxation Zone that’s literally perfect for taking a break.

There’s a charging station in Storybook Circus in Magic Kingdom!

There are comfy chairs throughout the area, and you can find outlets to charge your phone!

Did you know this was here?

This spot is seriously underrated and overlooked, so make sure you don’t forget about it if you run into a low-battery emergency.

Storybook Circus

The next time you’re at Magic Kingdom and need a break from the chaos, you’re welcome to borrow one of our quiet spots for a quick rest! We’ll see you there. 😉
