Small decorative stars and circles inhabit the space between the layers of plastic. They’re multi-colored the line the interior of the outer layer, with some of the cutouts accumulating at the bottom.

The inner layer features a stylized depiction of a castle that matches the vibrant color profile of the rest of the tumbler. The illustration features basic shapes and sharp lines.

Though this tumbler is available at Walt Disney World Resort, the castle illustration more closely resembles Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park than it does Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. The windows and zig-zag designs on the front mimic the design of the Disneyland icon, but the image takes a few liberties with the rest of the design, particularly at the top of the castle and with its too-narrow width. It’s not a perfect match to any Disney Parks icon, but it appears to be most heavily influenced by Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Castles at Disney Parks

New Fountains Sleeping Beauty Ca

Castles are a symbol synonymous with Disney Parks and The Walt Disney Company, in general, with the association starting thanks to the company’s early animated film adaptations of classical fairy tales. Castles were often depicted in the films, with the company building a physical castle to serve as the visual centerpiece of Disneyland Park for its 1955 opening (though named “Sleeping Beauty Castle,” the structure opened four years before Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” film was released).

Castles have been built in every subsequent “Magic Kingdom”-style park built by the company, starting with Magic Kingdom itself in 1971. That icon, dubbed Cinderella Castle after the 1950 animated film, was larger and more extravagant than its Disneyland counterpart and was replicated for Tokyo Disneyland in 1983.

Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant opened alongside Disneyland Paris in 1992. Inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle, Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant features a walkthrough attraction that contains an animatronic dragon. Enchanted Storybrook Castle serves as the icon of Shanghai Disneyland and opened in 2016, while the newest Disney castle is the Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland.

The castle opened in 2020 and replaced the clone of Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle which had served as the icon of Hong Kong Disneyland since its opening in 2005. Both Enchanted Storybook Castle and the Castle of Magical Dreams contain references to several Disney princesses.
