Construction continues on Halloween Horror Nights 32 scare zones and other themed experiences at Universal Studios Florida. Earlier this week, we chronicled a crashed plane in the Jungle of Doom scare zone. Now, there is a bus and motorcycles parked in the music fest-themed Vamp ’69 scare zone, bats in the Jungle of Doom, and extra stage lights throughout the park.
Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horror
Lights now hang from the trusses near the front of the park.
This area will be the Dr. Oddfellow’s Collection of Horror scare zone.
There are multiple different types of lights, some that can move and some that are fixed.
Dark Zodiac
The Hollywood area of the park is becoming Dark Zodiac and crews are adding new zodiac-inspired metallic props to the platforms that were previously installed.
We first saw this centaur and bow sculpture, a reference to Sagittarius, alongside this pillar featuring a face with bleeding eyes.
The face resembles a lion, in reference to Leo.
The next day, an Aries sculpture was added.
Aries is represented by a ram’s head.
There are also two squared columns at the back of the platform.
On another platform is a circular prop with a scorpion for Scorpio curled up inside.
The next day, a fish was added, looming over the Scorpio sculpture from atop a tall frame.
Pisces is usually represented with two fish, so we may see a second one of these installed.
Café La Bamba
The façade of the Café La Bamba window has been painted and a matching archway is up in the courtyard.
Café La Bamba often serves seasonal food items. For the Halloween season, it will have Day of the Dead theming.
The window’s façade is bright orange with red trim.
Sugar skulls line the top of the archways.
A larger skull with black hair and wearing red flowers is on the archway in the courtyard, over the fountain.
Jungle of Doom
Foliage has been added to the largest structure in the Jungle of Doom scare zone.
The foliage is growing over the tops of the walls.
Moss lines the tops of the shorter walls.
Large sail-shaped structures have also been erected in this scare zone.
Giant leaf sculptures are on the sides, attached to bent poles, with a brown tarp on the front.
There are two of these structures, one at either end of the scare zone.
Giant bags now hang on wires above the scare zone.
The bats appear to be sleeping, with their wings wrapped around them, although their eerie eyes look down at us.
So far, three bats have been installed.
Vamp ’69: Summer of Blood
In the park’s New York area, Vamp ’69: Summer of Blood is looking to be one of the most fun scare zones. A brightly-painted bus has parked outside Revenge of the Mummy.
The bus looks straight out of the late 1960s, perfect for the hippie music festival scare zone.
Not all is as “peace and love” as it appears though — a couple of windows near the back of the bus are shattered.
The paint job matches that of the music fest stage decorated in late July.
There are also new music fest banners on the lampposts.
They advertise “Summer Music Fest ’69” in New York, “3 days of love and music.”
There are multiple banners, identical except for color: green, yellow, or blue.
The Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store will return to the J. Stein & Co. façade this season. The area in front of the building is clear for the temporary Halloween-themed façade to go up soon. It will be comic-themed.
Next to the Tribute Store, a motorcycle is parked next to one of the trusses.
Temporary fencing is around the motorcycle.
Across the street, three more motorcycles are parked next to the stage.
A black barrel and box are next to these bikes.
More Lights Installed
Lights have also been installed above the MIB Gear Shop.
It’s been rumored that there would be a “M3GAN” horde experience in this area, but this wasn’t announced with the rest of the houses and scare zones.
Halloween Horror Nights 32 Details
Halloween Horror Nights 32 is an after-hours, hard-ticket event that will take place at Universal Studios Florida on select nights from September 1 through November 4. There will be 10 haunted houses:
- Stranger Things 4
- The Exorcist: Believer
- The Last of Us
- Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count
- Universal Monsters: Unmasked
- Dr. Oddfellow’s Twisted Origins
- Dueling Dragons: Choose Thy Fate
- YETI: Campground Kills
- The Darkest Deal
- Bloodmoon: Dark Offerings
Guests can visit some of the houses during the day for a lights-on tour with Behind the Screams: Unmasking the Horror.
Each scare zone is connected to Dr. Oddfellow.

It’s rumored SNL’s David S. Pumpkins will appear at Peacock’s Halloween Horror Bar.
