The meal is one of many Haunted Mansion food and beverage offerings at Disneyland right now celebrating the new movie. Guests can also get a Hatbox Ghost sipper.

Haunted Mansion Inspired Prix Fixe – $45

Experience Haunted Mansion inspired New Orleans favorites with a 3-course prix-fixe meal (appetizer, entrée and dessert, plus a nonalcoholic beverage). Start with traditional Gumbo or a light Panzanella Salad. Then choose from a wide variety of enticing entrees including the Seafood Boil, Ratatouille Farro Risotto, Battered & Fried Monte Cristo and Red Wine Braised Short Rib. Treat your taste buds to a perfect ending with the limited-time Haunted Mansion Candle and Heart Dessert or Vanilla Crème Brûlée (Plant-Based).

Most of the Haunted Mansion meal items are on the regular menu, too. The seafood broil and Haunted Mansion candle and heart dessert are exclusive to the Haunted Mansion meal, so of course we got them. We got two meals, so we also got the gumbo, Panzanella salad, and red wine braised short rib (we got two of the Haunted Mansion desserts).

Gumbo

Andouille Sausage, Tasso Ham and Rice

There are many different takes on gumbo and we’ve always enjoyed Café Orleans’ version. It’s a delicious traditional gumbo.

Panzanella Salad

Heirloom Tomatoes, Grilled Artichoke Hearts and Toasted Croutons with a Basil Vinaigrette

This is one of Café Orleans’ usual plant-based options. It’s well-dressed in the vinaigrette. Everything is fresh and bursting with flavor. We would still say (if you aren’t vegetarian/vegan) get the gumbo because it’s classic, but this is still an excellent option.

Seafood Boil

The seafood broil doesn’t have an official description but you’ll spot corn on the cob, andouille sausage, oysters, shrimp, and potatoes. It comes with rice on the side.

It was spicier than we expected, but not in a bad way. The shrimp is perfectly cooked with no fishy taste. We tasted some beef in the broth. The sausage is a nice complement to everything else.

The rice is plain white rice but there’s nothing wrong with that. The meal was excellent and we definitely recommend it.

Red Wine Braised Short Rib

Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Mushrooms and Soft Herbs with a Black Garlic Jus

The short rib is soft with a pot roast-like consistency. It’s the opposite of the seafood broil in that it could probably use a bit more spice. But it’s cooked well.

The mashed potatoes are smooth.

This is a decent dish, but not our favorite. We would definitely choose the seafood broil with this prix fixe meal.

Haunted Mansion Candle and Heart Dessert

This dessert has an incredible presentation — almost exactly like the promotional image that was released — with an actual lit birthday candle sitting in a white cake version of a larger candle, atop a cookie and a bloody splatter of berries.

Again, the menu didn’t say what this was, so we took our first bite not knowing what we were getting. The outside of the candle is a fantastic white chocolate shell. The inside is a light and airy vanilla mousse.

The “heart” base is a pecan cookie and cherry compote. The compote is very tart. The pecan cookie and cherry together are a delicious combination.

Café Orleans did run out of the candle and heart dessert while we were there for dinner, so we recommend going early if you can.
