I’m Not Too Proud To Admit I Was WRONG About This Disney Treat

Picture your favorite summer Disney treat. Got it? We bet something immediately came to mind.

And we also bet it probably didn’t involve eggs, right? Okay. Glad we’re on the same page. Disney sure knows how to celebrate, and right now it’s time to party because we’re officially Halfway to the Holidays — which means a few holiday-themed treats have popped up around the parks. It’s time, Dear DFB Reader, to come on our journey as we drink egg nog just in time for summer.

There’s nothing quite like drinking a thick, egg-based drink in the middle of the summer — so of course we had to check it out. We’ve had egg slush drinks in Disney World before, but this time we’re heading over to Disney California Adventure’s Cozy Cone Motel to try the Egg Nog Slush for the Halfway to the Holidays event!

Sounds…interesting

This frozen treat has an egg nog base, but with a boozy twist — it’s got Rumchata liqueur and is topped with whipped cream and sprinkles for $17. We weren’t too keen on the idea of a slushy egg situation, and the thought of drinking eggs on a hot day made us immediately think of our favorite San Diego news man, Ron Burgundy.

But, we soldiered on — for you. And to be honest, we were pleasantly surprised. We didn’t expect to like this as much as we did. It had the texture of a slushy with a strong cinnamon flavor that wasn’t too overpowering, instead, it helped cut down on the richness of the custardy egg nog flavor.

There she is!

The Rumchata was present but we didn’t get whacked in the face with a strong alcohol flavor — it mostly just tastes like cinnamon and the whipped cream on top added a nice vanilla sweetness that rounded things out. It tasted more like what you might think an alcoholic churro slushy might taste like rather than something egg-nog-based.

If you’re not a fan of cinnamon, we’d definitely recommend skipping this one the next time it comes around.

Not bad actually

While Halfway to the Holidays is a limited-time event, you might not be able to grab this drink in Disney California Adventure now — but there are plenty more incredible eats and treats throughout Disneyland you can check out. Not only that, but Disneyland usually goes all out during the actual holiday season, and you can read more about that here.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more epic eats from Disneyland and more, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
