Two Disney Restaurants Are Now Closed FOR GOOD

It’s always bittersweet when fan-favorite restaurants close at the Disney parks.

It’s definitely disappointing to say goodbye to some favorite menu items and some beloved restaurant theming. Often, though, these restaurants disappear to make room for something new and exciting! Two Disneyland restaurants closed FOR GOOD last week to make room for an all-new restaurant space. Ready to check it out?

Catal Restaurant and its outdoor bar Uva Bar & Cafe — located in Downtown Disney at Disneyland — closed permanently on April 14th. These restaurants served Disneyland visitors for over 22 years! Many fans fell in love with the Mediterranean atmosphere and cuisine.

Disney said that the restaurants would close to make way for “an exciting new addition to the Downtown Disney District.”

Two new Mexican Restaurants, Paseo and Centrico, will take over this space. The new eateries will be created by Chef Carlos Gaytan — the first Michelin Star-awarded chef born in Mexico.

These two new restaurants are only a small part of the broad project to add new shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences to the west side of Downtown Disney. We also know that a brand new Chinese restaurant, Din Tai Fung, will make its way to the district, bringing with it its famous soup dumplings.

The Downtown Disney District isn’t the only Disneyland location getting a facelift! Earlier this year, the fan-favorite French Market Restaurant and its accompanying Mint Julep Bar closed for refurbishment. While Disney says we can expect the Mint Julep Bar to return, The French Market Restaurant will be reimagined as Tiana’s Palace.
