REVIEW: This Disney Snack Was SO CLOSE to Perfection

Disneyland has had some hits lately in the snack department!

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland

We recently tried a Peach Cobbler Donut (!!), fawned over an adorable Steamboat Willie Milk Shake, and started making our way through the amazing list of food added for Celebrate Soulfully during Black History Month. Now, we’re trying another fried treat at Disneyland: Cranberry Fritters!

Over at Royal Street Verandah, there’s a new seasonal treat in town — these Cranberry Fritters with Orange Dipping Sauce for $5.99.

Cranberry Fritters

We really loved these! They were warm and sweet with a cranberry flavor that wasn’t too strong or artificial. The dough was soft and dense on the inside, and the outside was perfectly fried with a nice little crunch.

Our reporter only had one complaint: the dipping sauce. While the cranberry flavor in the dough seemed authentic and fresh, the sauce had more of a vanilla/orange artificial flavoring to it. Rather than having refreshing citrus notes, it reminded us more of orange candy.

Overall we still enjoyed these, even though the sauce could have been better. If you’re a fan of cranberry and orange, make sure you stop by Royal Street Varanda to give these a try — but if you’re not a big cranberry fan, you might want to skip them!
