PHOTOS: You’ll Be SHOCKED by Today’s Crowds in Disney World

Happy Valentine’s Day, DFB readers!

Valentine’s Day

We’ve been on a mission to try all the Valentine’s Day treats Disney World releases this month (and more are coming today!) and bring you our reviews of them all. Now that the holiday is upon us, let’s check out what the crowds are like in Magic Kingdom!

Walking into Magic Kingdom this morning, it didn’t seem too crowded. Main Street had a decent amount of guests but there was still plenty of room to move about. At this point, it was the best of both worlds: sunny and spacious!

However, once we made it over to Cinderella Castle we spotted some heavier crowds. Everyone was gathering to watch Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, and it seemed like a lot of guests were interested in this show today because the viewing area was pretty much full.

The castle was hopping!

Throughout the day, crowd levels seemed to stay pretty high. While there were a lot of areas where the crowds didn’t seem as thick, the wait times are definitely showing how full the park is. Around the middle of the day, plenty of rides had wait times close to if not over an hour. For mid-February (usually thought to be a slow time in Disney World), that’s pretty crowded.

At 2PM EST, 5 rides had wait times over an hour, including Haunted Mansion with a 90-minute standby wait! Here you can see the queue for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at noon, which extends far beyond the ride’s entrance.

Just as we saw earlier, shows were no exception. Here is a look at crowds gathering for the parade. Pro Tip: If you’re not set on watching the parade, use times like these to hop on rides that usually have long lines!

If you’re in the parks today, be sure to be aware of these crowds and longer wait times for both rides and shows. You may want to consider purchasing Genie+ in order to skip the lines on some popular attractions. And if you’re planning to visit soon, it’ll likely be a good idea to get to the parks early (before they open) and head straight for your favorite rides to avoid long lines later in the day.
