UP-CLOSE LOOK at TRON Construction in Disney World

We’ve been waiting for the Walt Disney World Railroad to reopen since 2018 — and it’s finally happening!

It’s the train!

The train has been out of commission while Disney works on building TRON Lightcycle Run (a new roller coaster in Tomorrowland), but that’s all changed now. We got the chance to ride the train and check out all the new details. And, we got a CLOSE-UP look at TRON from the train! Come see it with us!

All aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad! We’re so excited the train is finally welcoming guests again, and we just had to climb aboard for ourselves. We’ve been able to see what TRON looks like from the PeopleMover and the ground over by the Barnstormer, but now we’re seeing it from a whole new angle!

We went through the tunnel that the train runs through at the TRON construction site, and coming through the other side, we spotted TRON ride vehicle testing! We saw glimpses of the construction and views of the new walkways. This was the closest we’ve been able to get to the tracks.

Oh my gosh!!

The canopy looks HUGE from this angle, and you can really get an idea of how big this roller coaster is.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know what the inside looks like, but we did see more of the details outside being worked on.

Next time you’re in Magic Kingdom, hop aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad if you want to get a closer look at TRON! Disney shared the new thrill ride will be opening in spring 2023, but we’ll let you know when we learn an official opening date! In the meantime, stay tuned to DFB for the latest TRON updates and more news from around Disney World.
