PHOTOS and VIDEOS: Fantasmic! Preview Event Cancelled Due to Weather

Fantasmic! officially returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on November 3rd! The fan-favorite show featuring Sorcerer Mickey has been missing since the parks closed back in 2020, so many Disney fans are excited to see it come back.

Fantasmic!

We were invited to see a media preview of Fantasmic! to check out the changes to the show, which include new characters, stunts, and effects. However, tonight’s show ran into some problems about halfway through.

Since Fantasmic! uses an outdoor stage, the show can run into problems if bad weather is in the area. That appears to be what happened to tonight’s performance.

About 20 minutes into tonight’s performance of Fantasmic!, the show stopped and an announcement was made that an “unforeseen technical difficulty” was the cause. Shortly after, it was reported that there was inclement weather in the area, so the show would have to be canceled.

We were able to see most of the show, including the new segment, so we’ll be bringing you details on the changes soon. If you’re visiting Hollywood Studios and plan to watch Fantasmic! in the evening, be sure to keep an eye on the weather. Also, remember that the weather in Orlando changes quickly (we frequently see thunderstorms pop up and die out quickly), so don’t give up on the show until it’s officially canceled!

On some evenings, Fantasmic! has multiple showings, so you may be able to stay later for another performance. Check the My Disney Experience app to see the showtimes for when you visit.
