While they continue working on rockwork structures, crews have also been adding small details to Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana,” a new walkthrough attraction scheduled to open next year at EPCOT.
The tree-like figures wrapped in plastic are themed lampposts. The longer horizontal pole in the image above appears to be an archway structure.
Around the Te Fiti swirl on the tallest rock structure, moss and pink flowers have been added.
The inside of the carved swirl has also been painted blue. Dark paint has been added to the rocks where water will run down to simulate wear and staining.
This structure will be at the entrance to Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” while a 16-foot tall statue of Te Fiti will be further inside.
Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” will be part of the World Nature neighborhood. Next door, construction continues on CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza, which will be part of World Celebration.
