If You Hear Music at Walt Disney World, Dance!

Disney music is incomplete without breaking out your dance shoes. We sing to our favorite Disney tunes, but I believe we don’t dance often enough to them. Movement, self-expression, freedom….dance. I am not a dancer by any means, but I believe music and movement combined are emotionally, mentally, and physically healthy. It can bring families together, couples partnered, and children on their feet clapping with glee. Our Disney Parks & Resorts are a gateway for enjoying DANCE. You can dance in Walt Disney World; if you hear the music playing, dance!

I believe dancing waned during the ’80s. Disco died, Michael Jackson’s Thriller movements were the rage, and then it was gone. Young adults no longer hung out at nightclubs to dance; kids no longer memorized and practiced dances in their rooms during sleepovers. There was a multitude of reasons, AIDS scared people away from nightclubs, disco was no longer cool, and video games and latchkey generation substituted outdoor unscheduled play and movement. I believe the lack of dance has contributed to a deterioration of mental health and wellness. Dance is fun, playful, and essential to our mental well-being. It creates happiness. And Disney is happiness. Let’s not let dance die in Disney; let’s search for it and get our dance on! Here are my Top Five favorite places to dance at Walt Disney World!

DISNEY JUNIOR

Early childhood has never been better with Disney Junior. Dance, sing, and clap along with your children’s favorite characters from Disney Junior during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2022 called Disney Junior Jam at Storybook Circus. Find Disney Junior on Tour in your local cities. Bring your little ones to Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Disney Junior Dance Party! Doc McStuffins and Vampirina will bring you out of your shells and get your groove on!

Country Bear Jamboree

I was relaxing in this classic attraction, and every guest enjoyed clapping along, swaying, and stomping to our favorite Country Bear traditions. This time, a dance broke out. You heard it, not a fight, no, but a dance. What fun! Adults were dancing to improvised hoedowns just as the lights came back on. Smiling, happy adults. This is what we need more of.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

There is a room in this attraction: Daisy Duck’s dance room. Guests remain seated in the attraction vehicle as you enter her synchronized dance lessons. Daisy will teach you the rumba, and EVERYONE dances, even the attraction vehicle! This is my favorite attraction, and Daisy is delightful. Fun easter egg alert: Find her Duck Water next to her dance stage! Shake those tail feathers!

Guest Sydney Russell (2019) dances her heart out to the Disney Band on Main Street, U.S.A.

Concerts & Shows

Eat to the Beat Concert Series at the America Gardens Theatre stage in Epcot offers music and dance during Epcot International Food & Wine Festivals. The last one I went to, I noticed passerby guests dancing in front of the American Adventure Pavilion onto their next World Pavilion, enjoying the music. Walking is not an option; it’s all about dancing here.

During Disney’s nighttime shows, you can always sway and dance to your favorite music while watching Enchantment or Harmonious.

Resort Pools

On property, you can always find dance contests and games at Disney’s resort pools. Children enjoy the sun, swim, music, and dance, all combined with Cast Members leading the way. They march, conga, and create wonderful memories poolside for families of all ages, but I find the little ones especially to enjoy it. I particularly enjoyed watching the children dance at the Art of Animation Resort pool. There is no afternoon napping there!

These are my top five favorite places to dance at Walt Disney World! Where do you enjoy dancing in the Parks & Resorts? Take those two left feet and dance there like you’re at your friend’s wedding; enjoy and remember: If you hear music, dance!
