WOW! What a busy last few days it has been. We have been reporting LIVE from the D23 Expo and the fun is just getting started. Not only have we learned about a GIANT Te Fiti coming to EPCOT but we have also seen an up-close look at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is the attraction replacing Splash Mountain in both Disney World and Disneyland. BUT. The fun is JUST getting started.
You may remember that a few months back we shared that Pixar would be releasing a brand new film called Elemental. Well, now never-before-seen details and footage have been released for the new film!
Elemental is set to release in theaters on July 16th, 2023, and will follow Ember and Wade in a city where fire, water, air, and land resident reside together. The story follows these two unlikely characters as they find out how much they actually have in common.
One member of the team behind the film discussed his parents coming to the United States from Korea in the early 70s, and how they managed to create a life in New York. According to the team behind the film, they said it felt right to tell a story about everyone who has ever made a sacrifice or taken a risk and set it in the hustle and bustle of a big city, but with a twist!
And now, we’ve learned a bit more about the film. While we had seen concept art before, we got to see a FIRST LOOK at Ember & Wade in the film, played by Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie, respectively.

The team behind the movie shared that they wanted Ember to feel like she’s not just on fire, but that she’s made of fire. Wade is a water guy and is transparent, so you “always know what he’s feeling.” The chemistry of the characters is said to be a really important part of the movie.
