What’s New in the Disney World Hotels: Frozen Spiked POG Juice

If you’re staying at a Disney World hotel in the near future, things may look a little different!

Grand Floridian

Multiple Disney World Resorts are currently getting updated or got updated in the past few years. There may be new restaurants at your hotel that opened since your last visit, and we’re constantly finding new merchandise in the gift shops to check out. There’s a lot to keep up with and that’s exactly why we’re sharing everything that’s new at the Disney World hotels!

Hotel Food Updates

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Let’s start this news roundup at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, where we found both a new snack and a new drink this week! At The Drop Off pool bar, one of the monthly beverages for August is the Frozen POG Juice Rum Punch for $13. We tried it out and found it to be a little heavy on the orange juice, but very refreshing!

Then nearby at Landscape of Flavors, you can try out the new Lightning McQueen Road Gravel Sundae. Ice cream is the key to surviving that summer heat in Florida, and this treat will cost you $6.49.

The perfect simple treat

It’s made with vanilla soft-serve ice cream and chocolate cookie crumbs, chocolate sauce, and a Lightning McQueen Chocolate CoinAnd honestly, it really hit the spot!

Hotel Construction Updates

Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Moving on to construction updates, things are progressing at the Polynesian Village Resort, where Disney has plans to add a new DVC tower with more rooms. The area has been cleared, and crews have been working to get it prepped for the new building.

Polynesian Construction

There hasn’t been much excitement yet, but we did notice that some dirt got moved around and leveled out.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

At Fort Wilderness, we spotted some construction happening on one of the docks while we were riding on the Friendship Boats. The area is blocked off from guests currently.

Dock Construction

The construction didn’t affect transportation to and from the campground, and it didn’t seem to be incredibly extensive.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

And finally, Wilderness Lodge had a sign up letting guests know that work was being done at the waterfall.

The waterfall is under construction!

There weren’t any major differences during our visit, and at that time, the area was still filled with water. We’ll keep watching to see if anything changes.
