All the Shows and Rides That Are CLOSED In Disney World This Week

Getting ready to head to the Disney World parks? You’ve probably already made dining reservations, secured those park passes, and even started on your packing list. So what are you forgetting?

Let’s go to Disney World!

You might not have thought to see what’s going to be CLOSED in Disney World while you’re there. Disney often closes attractions to update them or make changes, and those refurbishments could affect your upcoming trip. See a complete list here of what’s NOT going to be available in Disney World this coming week.

Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World Railroad

The Walt Disney World Railroad is still closed in Magic Kingdom, and Disney hasn’t announced when this attraction could reopen.

Walt Disney World Railroad Main Street Station

The closure is due in part to construction in Tomorrowland on the TRON: Lightcycle Run roller coaster, which interrupted the tracks over there. There’s no end date yet on the TRON project, so we’re not sure when the Railroad could return.

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Enchanted Tales with Belle is also closed in Magic Kingdom. Disney has not given a reopening date for this attraction either.

If you want to see Belle in Magic Kingdom, you can find her at the front of the Festival of Fantasy Parade, which runs through Magic Kingdom daily at 12PM and 3PM. Also, check out the Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

Pete’s Silly Sideshow is closed in Disney World, but Disney has announced that it will reopen sometime “in the coming months.”

Pete’s Silly Sideshow is closed for now!

At this spot, guests previously could meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy. Minnie is currently greeting guests with Mickey at Town Square Theater, where you can see both of them in their 50th Anniversary outfits!

Harmony Barber Shop

Harmony Barber Shop will reopen at the end of this month, on July 31st.

You can make reservations now to get a haircut here. Prices for these experiences have increased a bit since it was last open, so check those out before you book your reservation.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be closed for all of next week, but it’s scheduled to reopen on August 25th.

This is where kids (ages 3 to 12) can be transformed into Disney princesses and princes! The Disney Springs and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort locations don’t have a reopening date yet.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Festival of the Lion King

A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King is closed for most of this week, but it’ll reopen as simply Festival of the Lion King (like it was called before the 2020 closures) on July 16th.

Festival of the Lion King

When the show reopens, it’ll feature some fan-favorite scenes that have been missing for a while: the Tumble Monkeys and the aerial acrobatic birds!

Check out another live show that’s returned to Animal Kingdom.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Voyage of the Little Mermaid will be closed for all of next week. Disney hasn’t announced when or if this show will reopen in Hollywood Studios.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

In the meantime, head to Magic Kingdom to find a different Little Mermaid-themed attraction — the Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid ride!

Fantasmic!

The popular nighttime show Fantasmic! is still closed as well, but it’s scheduled to return sometime in 2022.

Fantasmic!

When the show reopens, it’ll have a few changes such as new stunts and characters.

EPCOT

Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360

This week marks the beginning of the 2022 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! We could not be more excited to try out all the new and returning eats. One of the booths — the Appleseed Orchard booth — is set up in the theater where Canada Far & Wide in CircleVision 360 usually plays, so that attraction will be closed for the duration of the festival.

Closed for the festival

While you can’t visit to watch the show, you can head inside starting on July 14th to find some tasty festival snacks, like an Apple Crumble Tart, Frozen Apple Pie Drinks, and Cinnamon Apple Cider.

Disney World Hotels

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

At Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Victoria & Albert’s is going to be closed for all of next week. This spot will reopen on July 28th, and reservations are available now.

Main Dining Room at Victoria & Albert’s

When it reopens, Victoria & Albert’s will have some updates to both the menu and decor.

Disney World Water Parks

Blizzard Beach

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed. Disney hasn’t released any information about this parks reopening timeline.

Ski Lift at Blizzard Beach

Instead, guests can visit Typhoon Lagoon — Disney World’s other water park. There, you’ll find a lazy river, several slides, and some new snacks to try.

Check out Typhoon Lagoon here!

This coming week is also going to bring the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival to Disney World! We can’t wait to try all the new and returning eats when the festival begins on July 14th, and we’ll bring you along with us to let you know which you should try and which you should skip. Throughout the day, we’ll be releasing reviews of EVERY booth as well as details about the entertainment, activities, and merchandise.
