What You Need to Know About The Return of Victoria & Alberts

Victoria & Alberts is a fine dining restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and is preparing for its grand return on July 28, with reservations available starting June 20. Even though I will probably never eat here in my lifetime, a girl can dream; I am excited to see it reopen. Honestly, I am excited anytime something else reopens here at Walt Disney World.

In case you didn’t know, Victoria & Albert’s has been a recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award since 2000 and the Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Award since 2018. This means this restaurant is one of the best restaurants that offers an experience like no other. Disney has reimagined the dining room to reflect a Victorian-styled setting by having murals and wall coverings highlighting timeless elegance and subtle inspiration from a whimsical garden. For a more intimate setting, the private Queen Victoria’s Room or the coveted Chef’s Table has a front-row seat to the culinary masterminds of the restaurant and creates that next-level experience. If you love wine, this is the place to be because they have over 500 wine selections that the sommeliers perfectly pair with your dishes.

Chef’s Tasting Menu

Let’s get to the food. When this location reopens, you’ll be able to experience the Chef’s Tasting Menu. According to the Disney Parks Blog post, each dish balances elegant ingredients with unique flavors. The menu at Victoria & Alberts is ever-evolving, and guests can indulge in dishes such as Colorado Lamb with pickled blueberry and violet mustard and line-caught turbot with fennel fondue, and Pernod beurre blanc. Guests that enjoy steak can experience the Wagyu A-5 Miyazaki with sauce romesco and potato rösti. If you are like me and love chocolate, this next part is for you. Chocolate lovers will get to experience the Spectrum of Chocolate, an ombré featuring specialty sourced chocolates with accents of buttermilk, Grand Marnier, and vanilla. That sounds like a dream.

Time to meet the head Chef of Victoria & Alberts. Matthew Sowers leads the amazing talented culinary team that masterfully creates the dishes at this top-tier restaurant. Sowers has worked at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts since 2006, with over 15 years of culinary experience at Victoria & Albert’s. He also curated the menus for Remy on the Disney Dream and Fantasy. Overseeing all of the chefs and culinary operations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is Executive Chef Kevin Chong. The culinary team at the Grand Floridan is enormous, but I just wanted to shine a light on these two culinary experts.

Culinary Team

Now it’s time to talk dress code. This restaurant is like no other and is a whole different level of fancy. Victoria & Alberts is the culinary crown jewel of the Walt Disney World Resort, so you must dress to impress. Guests are expected to dress accordingly for this upscale location with semi-formal to formal attire that respects the restaurant’s elegant and opulent aesthetic. So no, you can’t go from the parks directly to this restaurant unless you go to the parks in a full suit or cocktail dress, no judgment.
